Reasonable kitchen, large with plenty of goodies to eat, I personally bring my own. Large fridge but no freezer, microwave, jug and toaster, bear in mind no stove top. Guest lounge room with large TV, dining table and also outside large verandah The restaurant has a top class menu and the staff are excellent

You do have to trudge up staircases and the hot water can freeze you or burn you, but it is a budget old hotel, and good value for money

I loved the original building, the details, the high ceilings and style of the hotel. Check in was quick and easy thanks to the kind, attentive, easy-going management. Liked the wooden, comfortable communal kitchen and living room, the hallways and decorations. Beautiful downstairs entrance.

Only sad the pub was closed the night we were there, due to understaffing. Would prefer to drink and eat there too. But were kindly directed to other options around town.

Breakfast was free and very basic, in a common dining room. Self serve. Choice of orange or pomegranate fruit juice, four different cereal, toast with vegemite or peanut butter, and tea or coffee. My convention had their welcome drinks and finger food in one of the many dining rooms. The food was restaurant quality. The Great Central is recommended if dining out in Glen Innes.

The room was very basic, just a bed, a shelf with a hanging rack, small table, chair, shoe rack, fan. Wifi was a bonus, but dropped out frequently.

Owner was kind - plenty of time to get to know me and made me feel welcome, let me in afterhours. Place was really cosy - heated! Simple room. Basic dinner, but not overpriced. Really good value. Next time I'm in town, I'm staying here again.

Fantastic cheap option for an overnight stay during a road trip. Well located walking distance to shops cafes, etc. Great bar and great pub food. This is our go to when staying in Glen Innes.

Facilities are in need of an update, but still good considering the price!

The downstairs pub section of this hotel is closed on Mondays, although the upstairs is still available for accommodation. It would have been good to know that. When I arrived I found myself locked out. Perhaps a sign on the main entry door saying "If you a guest, just ring this number and we'll let you in" would help. Or an email or text beforehand advising what you need to do to get in.

It was basic but very comfortable. A shared bathroom isn't for everybody, but it didn't devalue our experience. With a bar downstairs and excellent food on offer too, my son and I were more than happy.

Need to advise guests that hotel is closed between lunchtime and 5:30 pm on Sundays. Also have a plumber install tap washers that are easier for arthritic wrists to turn off the taps.

The location is central to everything. Right in the town centre. I didn't stop for breakfast but it appeared to be cereals and milk in a shared kitchen area.
