Room was very comfortable, the air conditioning made it even more so! Not many hangars for clothes but lots of storage. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and lots of choice. The food for dinner was well cooked and tasty, but as we stayed for a week and the menu didn't change (six mains to choose from) it was a bit limiting. The swimming pool was a revelation - very clean, quiet with lovely towels and a changing room.

As above - more coat hangars for the wardrobe. A few different choices for dinner could be an advantage.

As a car enthusiast the overall ambience and style of the hotel were fabulous. Plaques, photographs and memorabilia of racing cars and drivers both past and present were everywhere. Rooms were all themed on drivers names. Ours was the Jackie Stewart room. We had dinner on both evenings of our stay. Nice food, well served and well presented. The car park outside was filled everyday with different exotic vehicles

It's an old hotel, so obviously no lift and narrow bending staircases. With mobility issues this would be very difficult. The room was quite small

Beautiful room. Spacious and clean. Bathroom a little small but it is adapted from an old building. Lovely dining room and excellent food.

The owner was gruff and off hand but all the other staff were polite and friendly. The big let down was breakfast. Very poor value for money. There is more choice and higher quality at an ibis hotel. We would have used the Boulangerie across the road if they had served coffee and had tables and chairs.

We stay here every time we drive through France. It meets all our needs as a family of four, travelling with two small dogs. The staff are super helpful, the family rooms are great and there is a restaurant on site. The restaurant is always busy and frequented by locals. They are able to cater for me as a coeliac and the staff understand about cross contamination etc.

A great old French hotel with days gone historic vibe and a strong "24hours of Le Mans" connection in many ways. Great vibe. Good restaurant and bistro, I recommend. And you will spot many nice oldtimers and other special cars, even hypercars, on the towns square in front of the hotel. I will be back to experience it all once again 😎 Rooms with LeMans drivers names, not room numbers, that was extra cool

The hotel is beautiful. The setting and the surrounding are charming. The room was comfortable, air conditioned (very important because of high temps) and well appointed. The pool and pool area and all the surrounds are fabulous. I could sit on that terrace for hours. The Restaurant is awesome. Ive run out of superlative's

WE HAVE BEEN THERE SEVERAL TIMES AND FIND IT VERY WELCOMING AS WE BREAK OUR JOURNEY TO THE DORDOGNE. WE LOVE THE AMBIENCE AND HISTORY OF THE HOTEL AND IT IS GEOGRAPHICALLY PLACED JUST WHER WE NEED IT.

ALTHOUGH WE CHOSE A SUPERIOR ROOM I THINK THE COST OF AROUND EURO 360 FOR ONE NIGHT WITH DINNER IS FAR TOO EXPENSIVE. THE DINNER WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING. THE TINY SCALLOPS WERE SWIMMING IN A VERY STRONG BROWN SAUCE WHICH WAS TOTALLY OUT OF SINC WITH THE DELICATE FLAVOUR OF THE SCALLOPS. ON THE MAIN COURSE, THE DUCHESSE POTATOES WERE SEVERELY BURNT AND WHEN REPLACED WITH FRIES , THE FRIES WERE SOGGY AND CHEAP. THE RESTAURANT CONTINUED TO SERVE THE POTATOES TO EVERYONE ELSE . I FEEL THE RESTAURANT NEEDS A NEW CHEF AND THE FOOD NEEDS UPDATING . IT IS GREAT TO HAVE AN HISTORIC HOTEL BUT THE FOOD SHOULD NOT BE OUT OF THE SIXTIES WHEN THE WORLD HAS MOVED ON.

Location ideal. Easy to park our large van. Staff all fantastic and nothing too much trouble . The pool is set in beautiful surroundings and clean. Towels provided . Restaurant doesn’t have massive amount of choice but we all chose something different and the taste, presentation and quality of food was brilliant, not the cheapest but worth the money.

I have always loved staying at The Hotel De France when driving through France. Sadly things have changed over the last few years. What was once an excellent menu in the true French tradition, now appears to cater for the rather bland British family of four. A great shame, but I guess they have to cater for clients who are perhaps a little less adventurous than others.

The welcoming staff, the history of the hotel to LeMans, the photos and documents available to the customers and the staff who simply like cars. This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The rooms are large and very comfy, the location is superb, the village is friendly and typical French rural, packed with historical buildings and atmosphere.
