Arrived late Friday 15th of November and was greeted by a lovely receptionist who was very polite and friendly .. well all staff were especially the two young girls in the bar ...who looked after me .. rooms were clean and spacious, and the stairs tested my fitness levels. Perfect location. Breakfast was fantastic every morning and piping hot . Can't wait to return but a different room so my liver isn't damaged 99.9% was perfect..
Was in room 18. Avoid if you can. It's over pub . Now it did say some rooms were above pub so I can't say I didn't expect it . It wasn't that bad as I ended up going next door to the pub and had a great night..so all in all that wasn't bad .Sadly food I got in the restaurant wasn't the best. I've got a photo of the burger but don't want to put it up .. as the chef may have just had a busy night and it was a bit late .

What a great place. We had a room with a lovely view and lots of lovely touches. The bed was very comfortable and although there was a bit of noise outside we were fine with this as the hotel lets you know ahead of time that this might be the case due to the location. We ate in the restaurant that evening and the food was great and well priced and we received great service. The breakfast provided was delicious and again excellent and attentive service.

The location and views are perfect, some noise at night from the bar below and customers sitting outside but we know Padstow well and do expected this but to be honest it just helped towards the atmosphere and it didn’t stop us from sleeping even with our windows open. The room had everything we required and more, the bed and pillows were so comfy leading to an excellent nights sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our stay was for a special wedding anniversary and drinks were on our room for us on arrival which was a lovely and special touch and much appreciated.
The room even though spacious, comfy and well equipped needs refreshing - walls repainting as there were a number of marks and grout in the shower cleaning/ reviving.

We stayed at The Old Custom House for just one night, but we truly had a wonderful experience. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Padstow. The manager Matt who welcomed us was incredibly kind and professional, despite it being a busy dinner time, he took the time to help us with our luggage and personally showed us to our room. Our room was spacious and cosy, full of thoughtful comforts, with a large and extremely comfortable bed, great pillows, and a spacious bathroom. We also appreciated the generous selection of teas and coffees. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it!
We liked everything! The only small thing missing was a mini fridge in the room to keep water or drinks cold, which we’ve found in other St Austell Brewery pubs, but honestly, it didn’t impact our stay at all (because it was just one night and you can use the bar downstairs if you need it) and would be easy to add in the future.

Excellent service from the staff. Room (5) clean and tidy and conveniently located on the first floor. Breakfast was really good too.
Unfortunately the "Free WiFi" did not work, having said that my Vodafone 4G signal served me well. I reported it twice; the WiFi Router was listed, but another message popped up saying "no internet connection." Being on the first floor, immediately above the main bar, it was quite noisy until 11:00pm. The last time I stayed in Padstow my 38 year old daughter was a toddler. Even then, the local celebrity chef was charging £18 for Fish & Chips. Padstow, in general, appears to have jumped onto the bandwagon and the pub prices are all very similar. As a former Publican I appreciate it's a case of making some money from the tourists in the summer months. Didn't see any cats; too many tourists' dogs I'm guessing!

As with all St Austell Brewery hotels the staff make them special. Special shout out to Dianne on reception for recognising my rainy day dilemma on my arrival in Padstow. Above and beyond normal service from a hotel. I’m truly grateful a sista was on reception. I thoroughly recommend this lovely hotel to anyone wanting a get away in Padstow. My room was divine. So many little comforts laid out. I actually slept all afternoon which is unheard of for me. Dinner was lush, breakfast was gawjuss. Shout out to housekeeping too, my bathroom was spotless and all the ladies in the corridors stopped for a chat. Just all round blooming lovely.
Having to leave!

The room we had no 12.was excellently situated overlooking the harbour. The room ,the bedding and en-suite were absolutely spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast. Really comfortable bed. Padstow is a lovely place anyway and is always clean and well presented . The choice of restaurants have reduced in number since my last visit but I suppose this was due to lockdown. Overall an excellent stay and we are planning a visit in September.
The choice on the restaurant menu for dinner could be a little more adventurous. Difficult to find a parking space near to the hotel during peak time for visitors

The location couldn't be beat. It's right in the middle of everything. It's quaint and updated. The room overlooked the harbor. The bed was 2 twins put together, so basically a king. We were able to have dinner at the bar for our large group and used the outside tables for a snack after the harbor cruise. Nice bath amenities.
The stairs were very steep! Staff was helpful when they were around. The food was okay. Not great. The shower temperature control was a little hard to figure out. There were no wash cloths.

It is in a very convenient situation being so close to the harbour. The bed was comfortable. There is also an area at the front with comfortable settees, a bar area and a pleasant area to dine & breakfast in. Breakfast was lovely. Cereals, yogurt, seeds, fresh fruit, bread for tidying, pastries as well as a very good choice of cooked breakfast. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. The quayside car park was £10 for overnight parking but very convenient as just across the road from the hotel.
The shower was very slippery.
