The room was comfortable and large. Had a bath, which is a great bonus. I had two excellent nights sleep. Little noise. House keeping kept the room to a high standard throughout. Enough shower gels to keep you going for your stay. Very much enjoyed the stay.

Shower could have been a bit warmer. I also banged my toe on it a couple of times. Towels could have been bigger.

The room was very nice with a very comfortable bed and a seating area, which you don't always get even in a 4 star hotel. Overall it was a very comfortable room. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and was very pleased with the meal.

The breakfast was ok but despite being advertised as a buffet breakfast, there was a fixed menu one day which was disappointing. The buffet was ok but needed a little more variety. The bathroom was ok but not as clean as I would expect, although it was equipped with soaps, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste. There was no fridge which was disappointing.

Very comfortable, good sized room with panoramic view of the city, waterfront and bay from our upper story room. We enjoyed the time in the room watching the street life below. We didn't have breakfast included in our deal, so did not experience the hotel catering. Good, affordable street restaurants available close by to the hotel. It was an interesting walk through the backstreets and street markets down to the waterfront. Only took 5-10 minutes, and right on the waterfront is a busy modern mall if you need shops or a foodhall as an alternative to the street food. Sandakan is a nice town with a number of worthwhile attractions and sights. The Rainforest Discovery Centre was a highlight, and as Australians, a visit to the Sandakan War Memorial was a moving experience. Google the nearby Rooftop bar (about 10mins walk from the hotel towards the water) - great place for sunset drinks and snacks.

No issues worth noting. Not highend, but affordable and good value.

We had a lovely clean and very quiet room, the black out curtains were great! It is just on the edge of one of the main streets leading down to the waterfront which is a great place to grab some food, there is also a big mall with lots of shops / stalls to grab some gifts, clothes and well stocked pharmacy if you need medicines or sun lotions.

Not applicable as the staff were super helpful, the stay was great and we would be back again !!

Stayed in Delux twin room,modern,nice and clean,TV had english movie channel,bathroom clean plenty of hot water clean towels etc Hotel about 5 min walk to waterfront,very happy with the service and hotel ,extended my stay a further 2 nights with no issues,after looking around town very limited choices of good hotels and i was very happy with my choice ,nice resturant/coffee shop on ground floor,did not use resturant myself on first floor

Only suggestion i would make to hotel is to provide simply town maps/ basic tourist information

Room was large. Bed was a bit hard but I slept well. Buffet breakfast was ok, different items on the 2 days I was there. I had a pasta seafood dinner in the restaurant that was good. Staff arranged a taxi driver for trip to Sepilok Orangutan Rehab Center. I ended up staying here 2 nights.

Only one small bottle of water provided in room, tho water was available at breakfast and in the restaurant.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, the reception lobby is large, nicely layed out and spotless. Our room was on an upper floor with great views over the city to the harbour, (nice watching the boats move around). It was clean and big enough for 3. Breakfasts were fine. But the location was excellent for walking around the old city and down to the night markets which are on the weekends along the waterfront. Good value for money.

Hotel Sandakan is an amazing journey back in time. They can really make something out of this, maybe turn it into a theme of itself (like 'Retro 90s Hotel Sandakan'). Make sure all facilities in there are up to date and things get cleaned thoroughly, and you've got yourself an amazing business idea. The only thing is, it must nog market itself as being a state of the art luxury and modern hotel, but I don't think the hotel currently does that. We had the king size room, staff was friendly, facilities were good, breakfast was fine. There was valet parking, though parking space is limited at the hotel. You could easily walk into the city centre of Sandakan from the hotel. Airconditioning was good, the room had a fridge, smelled very clean and was very spacious. Soundproofing was good,

Not much, all was pretty nice. O, the toilet in the bathroom was a bit low and close to the sink. Not suitable for heavyweight people, I guess.

Room is big enough, can fit 2xadults and 2xkids. Facilities complete. Bed confortable. Air-cond working great. Stayed at the 4th floor with City View. Can see Sandakan Town and the sea. Equipped with shower and bath tub. The breakfast was great, enjoyed the food. Check in and check out were smooth. Kudos to the receptionist. Limited parking, so need to pre-inform during booking. Hotel staff will help park our cara and keep the key. The staff will prpare the car during check out. The hotel looks old school but the management is doing a good job in maintaining the look.

Everything was great, except the water in the shower and bath tub was a bit yellowish in the beginning, maybe because the room was not occupied for a while? The water was clear after we let it run for about 10 minutes..

The location of the hotel is perfect. Staff were friendly and professional. The room was quiet and clean. The breakfast was very nice. I was able to store my luggage in the reception till the check-in time.

I was not instructed how to find the light switches in the room which created a little drama after dark (which was quickly sorted).
