Garh Jaisal is a lovely place. Before we'd even landed, they helped us by booking a train, and arranged a desert tour with camel-riding. The hotel was comfy, clean and in a quiet location; and it served delicious food in generous portions. (Here and in other places in Jaisalmer I was able to enjoy various gluten-free options, including rice dishes for breakfast, chapathis made from millet.) We had great views from the roof terrace. I highly recommend staying here.  Anit, the manager, is a beautiful human being. When we got there, Anit was utterly lovely, so caring and attentive. Just some examples: when we arrived at around midnight, he was concerned we might be hungry after our long train journey; he arranged a guide and transport for us when we needed it; and ensured the kitchen had millet flour to make gluten-free chapathis. It was like visiting a friend in another place who wanted you to have the most wonderful time.

Staying within the walls of amazing Jaisalmer fort, is something that really made our trip memorable. The hotel is really very nice, amazing staff, great food, and the best thing is their terrace. The staff also helped us plan a nice desert camping and camel safari and all. I highly recommend staying here!

We should have researched a bit more about the camel safari trip. It was very nice, but I realized there are several sand dune patches and not all are that large. So, it’s better to check with the staff what to expect when you go there. We liked our desert trip, but I wanted to have endless desert sand there :D

Inside the fort, excellent location, well-kept rooms, considering how outback Jaisalmer is, the hotel has made it easy for travelers more used to modern comforts to feel provided for and easy living. Rustic too. They did an excellent job to provide for guests. The rooftop terrace and restaurant has the most excellent views and comfortable bay seats. Beats other restaurants and prices are reasonably too. Are almost all our meals there.

Perhaps install shower curtains in some rooms without it to keep bathroom floor dry where possible although the dry air helps.

“Amazing Location and Wonderful Hospitality!” The location of the hotel is fantastic! We had the pleasure of capturing a stunning sunrise and spent a delightful evening watching the Jaisalmer Fort from the property. We truly wished we could have stayed for more days to soak in the experience. The staff and manager were incredibly welcoming and attentive with 24hours hot water service! They went out of their way to assist us, especially when autos were not allowed—helping us carry our luggage from the hotel to the main gate. Overall, a memorable stay with excellent service. Highly recommended!

This accommodation was so great, I wished I had booked for extra nights! Reasonably priced, beautiful rooms, great amenities, and extremely helpful staff - it had it all. It was especially nice to be staying within the 'living' fort that is Jaisalmer's. The staff helped me organise a few things whilst I was there, even allowing me to have a quick shower after my checkout. The restaurant upstairs is also great! Again, the staff went above and beyond and everything I ordered was delicious. Definitely try the laal maas if you eat non-veg.

The location and views were perfect, you can't get any better in Jaisalmer. This was our favorite hotel out of Rajasthan in terms of the quality of the room and the location. The view from the rooms and the rooftop are breathtaking. The rooms are very clean (with clean bathrooms). It's a must if you're in Jaisalmer!

There was nothing I could complain about. Just a heads up, you may need to tuk tuk from outside the fort walls to get to the hotel, but that was easy and the hotel arranged a tuk tuk for our departure.

Since the property was inside the Fort the view of the city was nice. Location wise - the property is at the end of a narrow lane. A car cannot reach the property nor do they have any parking facility. You will have to use the paid parking area for parking your car. You need a TukTuk for traveling inside the Fort area. View from their Roof top restaurant is amazing! Food - on day 1 we only had dinner at their roof top restaurant. We did not like the Veg Chowmein they prepared. It was cooked in tomato gravy instead of Soya Sauce and taste was not what it should have been. We did not like their soup as well. Hence, we decided to eat outside. We shared our feedback with the Chef and he said - this is the way they do it.

The bathroom should have been a little larger. And there was no phone in the room to contact the reception/restaurant.

The hotel and its kind and helpful staff offer great hospitality at the heart of Jaisalmer. There's AC and Fan in the rooms which offer a breathtaking view on to the City. There are both Indian and International food options to enjoy at the most magical place in the hotel: the roof terrace. You can spend hours there marvelling at the view in the little nooks. The staff is both friendly and discreet and is trying their best to give you a great experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The wardrobe would need a few more shelves to be of use ;)

Beautiful Haveli with lovely stone detailing and attention to detail. The view from the room was amazing and high above the city, and the roof terrace also had a panoramic view. The location in the fort was perfect right on the outside wall, and the hotel had a premium feel. The staff were very helpful and friendly and made our stay very comfortable.

The bathroom was a bit basic but clean and functional.

Wow! The location, the ambience, the view! We were in the opium room in the turret looking down onto the main gate. We loved sitting in the window seat with the panes wide open looking down on street life and over the rooftops. You can see most of the havellis and across to the Chhatris and the curve of the fort walls. The atmosphere walking inside the fort is excellent and you are minutes walk away from the fort entrance and Jain temples. We arrived by tuk tuk from the police station a few metres from the main gate. During our stay we easily walked up/ down the main inner fort road. The bed was wide, firm but comfortable. We had air conditioning and a heater provided which we didn’t require. There were warm blankets. The shower took a few minutes to run hot but was great once it did. Pressure was good. There was an abundance of toilet paper! The room was circular, with an entrance lobby. We shared the floor with the red, slightly smaller green and blue rooms. All looking out in slightly different directions across Jaislmer. We had a welcome drink on arrival; the rooftop restaurant has stunning views and indoor and outdoor seating. The home cooked Indian dishes were excellent taste and value; we ate twice. There is a good range of options. The inner decor of the havelli is lovely with some nooks for reading. Breakfast was lovely. The best crepes we ate in India during our month. Generous portions of diced fruit and plain yoghurt, toast basket, fresh orange juice… and other options available including eggs. The staff were excellent; genuine smiles and attempts to help. They took our suitcases down to the fort entrance by motorcycle when tuk tuks were restricted during the desert fair opening ceremony. They checked on us when we had a sudden thunderstorm and squall which dramatically took out the electricity across the city! You may experience some power cuts which affects phone charging but most of the lights are on battery back up for safety.

We were happy with everything!
