This is our 7th stay here at Carlton Oaks. I love this place. It's conveniently located by the lakes which is why we come here usually. The staff is nice from the office to housekeeping to the restaurant staff. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was excellent as well. My kids truly enjoyed it.

The only thing I am not too excited about is the carpet in the rooms. It's seems to be a bit worn and spotted and the lighting by the bathroom sink was dim. Other than that I love Carlton Oaks

We love staying at this property as most of the time it is very quiet, the facilities are clean, and the amenities on site are fantastic. The bar and grill is always a highlight- excellent breakfast!

The beds were less comfortable than we are used to this stay. They were ultra firm, which is good for some, but not others. This is no fault of the resort, but our upstairs neighbor was extremely noisy - at one point, it sounded like they were going to come through the ceiling.

not given any welcome info...like we have a bar/restaurant and the hours of operations. I would think this would be told to us when we checked in, but we had to find out on our own and it would have been nice to be informed instead of walking around trying to find someone to inform us of hours and what's offered..besides heres your room

Cleanliness, and staff was very friendly.

The sliding door did not have a working lock, unable to secure the door from opening from the outside. Phone did not have any directory to call the office. Had a tough time turning the tv on in the living room.

Spacious rooms, excellent bar/restaurant with great service and tasty breakfast food. live music in evening.

bottom floor can hear the upstairs people walking fairly easily during the night. bring earplugs.

The room was really nice, larger than I expected. The low-stepover tub was a fantastic addition, as I have issues with that normally! The room had great features as well. It was clean (much better than a hotel I stayed at a month ago). Quiet, due to being on a golf course. I'd definitely stay there again.

Only two things were weird, and both are pretty minor. 1. My room had a coffee pot, but no decanter to make the coffee in....so no morning coffee. Bummer. 2. There was no one in the office at checkout. Checkout is 11am, but no one there until 11:30, making the only option a key drop. A little strange, especially if someone had questions about the bill.

It was an excellent stay. Everything was comfortable,and very clean. I will definitely stay there again.

Not a whole lot of dining nearby, room decor is very dated. Some neglect is readily apparent. Sinks are separating from their wall mounts. The rugs are worn. Insects. Lots of insects. Front desk unavailable until 11am guess morning shift called in sick.

The location is perfect for visiting friends and family who live in San Diego area.

It was kind of hard to find the facilities. But once you did it was nice and cozy.

The pool was perfect, water was warm and clean. Location was quiet and relaxing. Food and service from Donaven was great.

The beds and pillows were very hard and uncomfortable.
