Location within steps of Seven Sons cafe, a beautiful double purpose beer garden and garden supply store, Lily's fine dining, a Mexican restaurant, and more. The inviting hotel restaurant large with attractive A frame construction, has good energy during cozy evening hours, and includes very comfortable oversize leather couches and chairs. A friendly, open environment. I should avoid my cooler and try eating there next time!

An outdoor hot tub in the playground by the road would be nice!

The room decor was very pleasant, the location was great, and multiple Tesla chargers was an unexpected bonus to charge up over night! it was pretty quiet and the surrounding trees made it feel like we were in far Northern California (which it is!).

Felt like it could’ve been slightly cleaner (found a plastic tooth flossing device on the floor just under the edge of the bed). The tub was stained and scratched—maybe not much to be done about that, but it detracted from the feel of the place.

I have been lodging at Shasta Inn on and off for nearly a decade. I keep returning not just because of the location (which is perfect if you are looking for everything nearby) but the staff. They are exceptional. Since they remodeled all their rooms, it even has a resort flair. Love the managers. They take pride in working there and making sure every is accommodated: with a smile, and great attitude. I highly recommend this lodge.

Not their fault at all. During my last stay, there was a large group from -I was told-Canada, conducting some activities in the area. They were (to my surprise as they appear to be in a "spiritual" gathering), not mindful of other peoples privacy, time of day or lodge request about what "quiet hours" are all about. They woke everyone up with their loud conversations, chanting's, and such as early as 6:00AM. So: if you are reading this dear Canadian group: IMO, being spiritual refers to respecting one another. Lovingly and respectfully submitted. Welcoming to our sacred land soon. Peace!!

The woman at Reception was super pleasant and helpful at check in. It is an attractive site with beautiful mature oaks and pines. Our old dog appreciated strolling about clean, unpaved areas away from traffic. After a long drive, it was nice to be able to walk across the street for a margarita and Cinco de Mayo meal and then down to a bar for darts and Jenga.

The heater unit at ear height right next to bed repeatedly woke us up, despite turning it down to 62. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Shasta Inn is located just out of the main downtown, and a little away from the highway, so it is much quieter. The room was very comfortable and clean. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The onsite restaurant was very good with a wide variety of food. There is also a Mexican restaurant across the street that we heard was also good, and a very nice breakfast cafe just down the street.

There was no towel rack near the sink.

Very good location; several restaurants within walking distance. Attractive grounds. The AC worked perfectly and had a remote control, a rare feature! Very comfortable bed. No wait for hot water -- this is often a problem.

A few minor things: a dog on a nearly property barked all night; I loved the splashless sink, but there was little space to put soap and toiletries; an armchair would have been a nice addition.

Size of the room, high-quality towels, bathroom appointments, comfortable bed, a work area with high intensity lighting, which is becoming almost impossible to find. Location is excellent, with many restaurants, etc. within walking distance. The attached restaurant, Harvest, is the best around -- unique dishes and a beautiful interior.

Free bagged continental breakfast was minimal, to say the least. The water was the only thing I really enjoyed. It would help to have at least one comfortable chair in the main room. The two stools in the work area were functional but not good for watching TV, relaxing, or putting one's shoes on.

We appreciate being able to Bring the dog. A restaurant on the property was great. We also loved that we could park in front of the room. Since we were on a roadtrip we had a lot in our car. This property provided 2 luggage racks! That’s such a nice touch. Bed was comfortable and we were able to have a wonderful night sleep.

Though they are dog friendly, there’s no green areas for the dog to pee and poop. We walked in the neighborhoods.

Really enjoyed most of the experience at the Shasta Inn. Quiet and far enough from the main road to keep traffic noise at bay. Loved the mature oak trees and the sound of chirping birds among the branches.

The lack of a table and two standard chairs was a disappointment in trying to enjoy a meal or read. Lighting was weird with a harsh lightbulb at the wall table with bar stools. That's really the only spot for laptop computer placement. There was a table with two chairs outside, but in the morning and evening it was too chilly to sit there comfortably to read or eat. For seniors a standard chair is also helpful for sitting to put on shoes, etc.

Like having a bar/restaurant on site and also pet friendly

We were not told until after our check in that all cars needed to be on the street by 8:00 am. It was rather inconvenient as we did not need to check out until 11:00 but the noise seating the asphalt was quite bothersome. There should have been some compensation.
