The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, offering tea when I arrived after getting off the CAT in Yarmouth. Breakfast was made to order in the morning for all the guests and we all sat together and shared where we were going and things to do in Nova Scotia. It being my first night there I was happy to add to my list of places to go and things to see. Comfortable bed in a spacious room, one of three on the second floor that shares a bathroom. I fell asleep listening to the water on the beach and a soft fog horn in the distance. I felt like I was staying with friends. The location was gorgeous, a great start to my trip.

As I mentioned, one shared bathroom for the three guest rooms. It wasn't an issue for me but I know some people who wouldn't like it so just be aware.

Very accommodating and felt like visiting family. Breakfast was wonderful. Beatrice asked the night before what our preference would be for breakfast. Later that evening the smell of bread baking wafted upstairs. In the morning we woke to the smell of bacon drifting up to the bedroom and birds singing outside the bedroom window. Lovely setting. Beatrice and George made you feel right at home. Thank you for opening your home to my sister and me.

Room was super clean and spacious. Multiple windows in rooms allowed for a lovely salty breeze for sleeping. Breakfast was custom order and homemade .Hosts very knowledgeable about recommendations for local eating and attractions.

Location hard to find as signage not close to road and kind of over grown with grass. Neighbours pointed out the location and said it happens a lot.

Gorgeous sunset and cool breeze through open windows. Bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. Perfect location if you want to learn about Nova Scotia and local history. You are treated as a member of the family.

A little too remote from the ferry. We got there around 8 pm and couldn’t find a local store to buy food.

Breakfast was delicious- several tasty options, all homemade. We enjoyed coffee on the back deck overlooking the water. Spent an enjoyable evening hour visiting with the owners and other guests. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer! As well, Beatrice had excellent recommendations for food and places to visit and tour nearby and where to stop along our drive back to Halifax.

Beatrice and George are wonderful hosts with lots of local knowledge. The House is very grand on a large lot with plenty of outdoor area and situated right on the coast with wonderful views. The room was beautiful and a Beatrice cooked up a yummy homemade breakfast.

The best place we have stayed at inNova Scotia! Beautiful location, a fantastic room in an amazing house and you’re made to feel like part of the family! If I could give 20/10 I would! Breakfast is also superb, eggs straight from the hens! Hosts knowledge of the area is brilliant, do listen to them 😁

Having to leave!

The location was right on the bay 15 minutes from town and provided for a relaxing setting. Our proprietors prepared breakfasts offering us a variety of choices. Our hosts were very knowledgeable about the area and the captain shared many insightful stories about the local fishing industry.

We were delighted with our experience.

Staying at the Argyle by the Sea with George and Beatrice was such a delight. Salt of the Earth they are ,and we were blessed to have met them! Great room and very comfortable beds. Awesome view and a delicious homemade breakfast by Beatrice and her hens👍🏼 Definitely recommend! Hope to come back for a visit!

This was one of the best stays I had during my trip to Nova Scotia. I was welcomed with so much warmth by Beatrice and George. The B&B is located in such a beautiful area, overlooking the water. It was lovely to sit on the terrace in the evening with a glass of wine, watching the sun set. The room was very spacious with a large bed, and had a stunning view towards the water. I had a great night sleep.
