We had a wonderful stay! The hotel is in a fantastic location right in front of the city beach and within walking distance of many popular tourist attractions. One of the highlights was the access to a complex of indoor and outdoor swimming pools located in the same building—made even better by the discount offered through the hotel. We enjoyed both pool areas, especially with the sunny weather during our visit. Breakfast was varied and well-organized, and our room was spotless, spacious, and perfectly suited for a family of three (two adults and a child). Overall, a great experience. Highly recommended!

The breakfast was very good. We got a large room upgrade, but paid extra for very early check-in. Very good idea to offer paid early check-in. The room var large and nice. The location of the place is perfect, with very easy access to the beach and also free use of a gym from an large chain. Nice view to to the sea, and short walking distance to the city centre and to the nice places to see. We will come here again

Parking in the parking garage belopw the hotel is getting expensive, and so is the regular price for the rooms

Very good breakfast, although no kettle in the room free coffee was available from machine in reception. Comfortable beds. Breakfast available until 11am so no mad rush.

The shower - although a good size of room important as it was effectively a wet room type of facility, was a bit inconsistent with the temperature of the running water.

We have traveled a lot and must admit this is the best breakfast we ever had - eggs were done in many different ways, there were even cooked meals such as beans, you could choose from fish to sweet part (pancakes). Fruit and coffee was everywhere. Family room we stayed in is very comfortable and spatious. We liked the underfloor heating in the toilet. Kids enjoyed table football in the lobby. Personel at the hotel were very polite and helpful (we had some issues with Dyrepark tickets so they assisted us with these), but also in the overall. We will definetly stay again here.

The hotel is very nice, very clean. The family room was perfect with two bunk beds and fantastic view on the titular bystranda. The breakfast was perfect. There even was a wafflemaker with waffles concoction. Perfect, very Scandinavian! What's also great is that the hotel is connected with Aquarama aqua park so you don't have to leave the building when you're going there. You can also lend towels at the reception since Aquarama doesn't provide them.

Lovely experience, we even received a small gift for our dog. Room was clean, big enough for a 3 persons family (i guess for a 4th person would have been kinda small). Very close to the ferry to Denmark and that was super important for us in the morning. From what I have seen, the breakfast looks rich and fabulous as described by others but we had to leave before to catch the ferry. We did receive indeed a breakfast bag but there is no comparison.

I would have preferred a somehow more rich breakfast bag, but i guess is difficult to satisfy all tastes.

Location and breakfast awesome

AC didn't work in the room, only a ventilation system. Even in November the room temperature was around 23 degrees, too much for a comfortable sleep in family room with 4 people. So we had to open all windows. This can be noisy if your room faces the busy promenade.

Wonderful and helpful.staff, perfect location. Good breakfast. Kids loved the bunk beds that disappeared into the wall.

Some parts of the hotel could be adjusted for the little ones, as this is a family friendly hotel. For example the sinks are too high, so a small chair or stool would help.

A very professional house but at the same time familiar. The restaurant serves very good food, there is a bar and many different places to sit and chat, all made up differently. Breakfast is buffet style with a lot of good things - all you would wish for.

Only thing I really missed was my suitcase - but that was KLM´s fault. A kettle to make some tea would be a very valuable addition.

I visit the Scandic Bystranda since many years. It´s always great, comfy and clean. Sometimes, mostly in summer also for Kristiansand overprized. From the hotel it´s easy to walk into the city or harbor and to the restaurants. Breakfast is amazing and everybody will for sure find something. I really liek the hotel.
