I have now stayed at 3 different Kottayam hotels. The other 2 were more expensive and I was worried about whether Daan Orchid would be clean enough since the cost was less. From the time of check in until the time of check out, the staff was very helpful - especially Varun. I was so relieved to find that the hotel and room was very clean with no smoke smell. The AC and fan and TV worked perfectly. The housekeeping staff did a good job and the kitchen has great food. I did not ever go down for breakfast buffet but I did room order and the Sambar is the BEST I've had! I even had to ask for special order for Dal for my son to be made with less oil and spice and they did it perfectly. The room was not only clean but it was also comfortable and I will definitely stay at Daan Orchid on future trips to Kottayam.

No knobs on bathroom door or wall to hang clothes when showering. No refrigerator in the room BUT I did not pay the price for an upgraded room with a refrigerator.

Nothing much... all was very great and good atmosphere... especially varun staff was very friendly with family members and immediate response for every thing...food was very great and fresh... Great support from varun staff....untime also they prepared tea for me.......next time I am very sure if I come to Kottayam i will stay and we will eat restaurant food... good service in the restaurant too

Location was good ..near the flower market and also near, walking distance to Thirunakkara mahadev temple and SriKrishna temple. The staff at the reception super friendly and always with a smiling face..very helpful in providing tips and directions etc. The breakfast was also ok, nothing to complain. Overall a nice place to stay.

Very comfortable stay. The front office staff are very friendly, polite and very helpful. Room is very spacious. Quite large. 22'×12' and clean. Bathroom is very clean. Perfect aircondition. The location is in the centre of the town so that accessibility is not a problem at all. They have a nice restaurant and the breakfast is buffet. Three kerala specials with tosts, tea/ coffee are approx.INR.400 for 2 pax seems good. If a tea kettle can be provided with tea/coffee/sugar sachet it would be a great help for the guests. All over the stay was very good.

I booked 2bed AC but they upgraded my room without any cost , I got a suite room .. total experience was great…

There is nothing which I did not like … But I requested for a tea in the morning 7.30 but they said they don’t have room service in the morning… it’s available only afternoon…. That’s the only thing they have to improve…

Centrally located, close to the KSRTC bus stand and commercial areas. Very friendly staff and an informal atmosphere. Rooms are clean and spacious.

Although clean and spacious the rooms are a little run down with use. When you turn on the shower the tap also remains on resulting in less pressure. The breakfast spread was local cuisine and tasty, but limited spread.

My stay at DAAN ORCHID was exceptional! From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, and the room was both cozy and well-equipped. The location was ideal for exploring the area, and I loved how peaceful and quiet it was at night. I’m already looking forward to my next stay!"

The chef made a particular effort to modify the meals to accommodate my husband’s strict requirements. Good location.

WiFi a bit iffy at times.

I have to tanks all the staff very kind professional and ready to help for any extra need. The hotel is perfectly located in the center but in a calm and silent road. Bus stop not far. Much appreciated the cleaness of the room and the cleaned bed and towels A good stay thank a lot

Doors should be re newed

Rooms are very big and spacious. Clean toilets. Staffs are really good. I had some issue with my booking but they listened carefully and didn't show any sign of anger. I appreciate their calmness.

Location was a constraint for me. Otherwise everything is good.
