This was an ideal place to stay in every way. The location is stunningly beautiful. The accommodations are superb. The optional breakfasts and lunches were excellent. Kate is a terrific host. I could not say enough about the Burnside Lodge. If I ever make it back to Islay (and I certainly hope I do), I'll hope to return to it.

Nothing....though I suppose it's pretty car-dependent (we had a rental so this was no problem for us). The bus does stop very nearby (and we were able to take it to and from Bruichladdich for a whisky tasting, so this is a real plus) but it runs fairly infrequently.

Breakfast is served in a basket and brought to your room. We both enjoyed the breakfasts. The room was very comfy and the facilities good. There is no TV, but that wasn't a problem. The WiFi was generally good but went a little wobbly on one evening.

The view from the room was amazing. Got a good choice for breakfast. The host was very helpful with great knowledge of the surrounding area and knowledge of the best place to get food

Kate and Tom that run Burnside are lovely people and the room I was in was beautiful. Huge big bed which was very comfortable and very good en-suite facilities. Beautiful view outside of Rinns of Islay lighthouse with seals in the bay. Also have a communal room where you can relax and have a tea or coffee

A bit far north on the island for why I was there but can't fault Kate and Tom for that.

Loved the shared lounge & loved the breakfast baskets. Owners were so friendly and lovely too, we had the best time!

Not a huge fan of the frosted glass door to the bathroom, but wasn’t a big problem!

The location was superb, quite and picturesque. Bed and furniture very comfortable. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming.

No real room to complete work within the room (although not designed to be a work hotel).

The location (whilst remote) is completely beautiful - we loved watching the weather change and chatting with the seals. Our hosts were also tremendously warm and friendly and we could get used to breakfast baskets in bed!
