Overall the guest experience was great! From check-in to check-out it was a seamless process. Staff are very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was great! Lots of choice and selection, from the omelette bar to the fresh sushi. Floor manager for breakfast in the restaurant is fab, polite, friendly and very helpful.

Could have done with more sun loungers by the pool with optional umbrellas to use. Only 6 available to use. Confusing to find the pool, had to go via the gym to access, no signage to say this.

So the reasons for staying @the Star are Value for money. Very comfortable bed. Cleanliness. Safety all the staff are on the ball. Peaceful obviously traffic noise and noise outside however. Never heard a noise from other rooms when inside my room. I had a corner room just to clarify. Access to great pool gym and fitness classes. Excellent instructors. One of the best breakfasts in Thailand. Palatial like decor for the price point is fabulous. Central location. Very friendly helpful staff even if you are a bit irritating like myself. Yes granted other rooms are available in other hotels for maybe 500baht less. The price I paid per night having the breakfast,the pool ,gym ,fitness classes ,excellent instructors made the overall package for the price point in my honest opinion Outstanding 😀

I suppose if you’re working with sensitive data then unsecured Wi-Fi networks and connectivity could be an issue for consideration. However you would probably have already in place a vpn solution anyway for the anomalies of hotel Wi-Fi in general. Also if you prefer beachside then the location being central your accommodation choice would more align with your personal individual requirements. I rented a scooter and frequented the beach as and when required as a solution. So apart from that If your considerations for where you stay align with what I wrote above then nothing. Don’t change what isn’t broken.

For the price what you get is clearly 10! It is not a brandnew, fancy "insta" hotel, probably built in the nineties [?], but they keep it in good condation, well maintened. The breakfast is pretty good, they have many choices, fruits, vegetables, steamed one as well, like pumpkin or sweet potatoes. Rice dishes like fried rice, plain with rice with some thai dishes [spicy], eggstation, soupstation, ginger soup etc + bakery corner with jams, nutella and peanutbutter + cereals with dried fruits [3 sorts], coffemachine, soft drinks [orange, guava, watermelon etc]. The aircondationed lobby offers a pretty comfortable working place with fast wifi. The wifi worked in the whole hotel well. Gym is super, even better, than some city gyms in the Pattaya-Rayong area. Sauna is pleasent, they have finnish and steamsauna, open from morning till evening. Room is spacious with big and comfy bed. Bathroom includes shower and bathtub as well. Location is great, walking distance to night food market and bazaar + fresh market with fruits , vegetables. Pharmacy, weed shop, haircut,massage and small thai restaurants just in the corner! The IT center is pretty good as well ! Here you can find a very tasty korean restaurant. Central Rayong Plaza is about 35 baht by motorbike taxi and around 70 baht [one way] by car.

The A/C in the gym was a bit cold.

The beds are huge and very comfy, restaurant does a buffet breakfast a mix of Thai Chinese and European. Lots of eggs. Ate in the restaurant that was quite good, wine was nice. Staff friendly, pool area get sun down along one strip of the area, lots of broken sunbeds, air con good. Cleaning was thorough, laundry was undertaken quickly and very good.nice toiletries and complimentary water

The bath leaks along the floor, not sure if toilet is leaking too at the back, drain on shower is upright and dangerous, wardrobe one door broken, windows were not locked, they soon were.

i forgot my wallet that have all kind of id's in it , when i called them they found it in the safety box and kept it for me to take it in next day , very good breakfast buffet , clean big size room , nice location with a short walk from star night market and star fresh market , 711 , lotus's , amazon cafe and other shops.

you have to climb a steep driveway or the parking lot stairs to reach the lobby , i had to contact the reception many times to tell the house keeping to makeup my room.

Grand old hotel needing a little TLC. Friendly helpful staff with much local knowledge. English is spoken and the breakfast can only be described as exceptional, large choice of dishes. The location is great and its quiet at night, near attractions, market, ATM and mini marts. The room was spotless with good beds and plenty of space. The pool area is also spacious and spotlessly clean with enjoyable areas to relax.

Our original room had some issues upon arrival, both the air conditioner and TV did not work and the shower only had warm to cold water. After experiencing over 4 hours of staff coming into and leaving the room to try and fix the issues we raised a concern with management and to their credit the hotel management upgraded us to another/ better room.

Excellent friendly staff spoke English very helpful and patient. Rooms are huge in reg, and deluxe .English TV channels comfy beds microwave in deluxe rooms Awsome gym and really nice pool deck ,right next to a huge Supermarket and IT center below bought 2 phones third the price of Canada ' street market outside hotel was Awsome and tonight Fri night another huge open air market location is great 15 mins to ban phi ferry- to kho samet lsland ' week days are around $50 cdn. But bit more on weekends Overall a hidden Jem is Rayong ' with absolutely everything you could need.

Ate in hotel reastraunt foods good and of course we tipped good service But small print on receipt said 10% gratuity included in bull' witch we felt was a bit cheeky " but hey it's Thailand and you can't eat and drink anywhere in our real world for the price so got over it pretty quickly.

The hotel is beautiful and has plenty of facilities. It has a decent sized pool, huge gym, great location next to lots of markets and close to malls. Staff were amazing and so helpful. We got laundry for a lot of clothes, a scooter and a local bus to our next location sorted through them. The room was huge, very clean, and the bed was soft and very comfortable.

The pool was very cold and never seemed to be in the sun throughout the day. More than half the sun loungers were damaged badly. A lot of the area around the pool seemed to be flooding and very slippy around the pool The breakfast was expensive. No smart TV for such a great room.

Spacious room, amazing breakfast (among the best buffets we have seen for this price category) and a large gym and (cold) pool accessible free of charge. The hotel is a few steps from the night market with lots of places to eat.

Overall the hotel and the rooms are a bit dated. The location is not too central as you have to take a motorbike or taxi to reach most places except the night market. The entrance of the hotel is weird for pedestrians, you have to walk up a slope that is actually for cars.

The location was great right in the centre of star complex, price is great for what you get, the gym was the best I ever seen a hotel have access to, the swimming pool wasn’t too bad, breakfast had a verity of choice more than average hotel, microwave, plates and cutlery in the room.

Issues with the bathroom the toilet had problems with flushing, staff could be more polite and friendly to the guest smile and greet this goes a long way even if it’s fake, the concierge as well upon arrival I would expect someone to at least wait for me with the trolley for the luggage but no one greeted me had to take everything out myself only after asking the receptionists for someone to help they called someone over, honestly the receptionists were the most friendly and had no problems with them.
