The pace at Barnsley is relaxed but refined and we appreciated that. Staff were everywhere but not intrusive. We loved the fire pits which burn in the morning and evenings. The variety of restaurants and the spa were also appreciated.

The only complaint was that the weather wasn't really warm enough for dining at the outdoor Biergarten (we had dinner and breakfast there) despite heaters and a fire place. Nothing Barnsley could control. There are limited "indoor" places to just hang out for a resort of this size so be sure to pack to be comfortable out doors whatever the weather.

The staff was great, and the food at the Woodlawn Grill was fantastic. Amenities and activities are plenty - golf, sporting clays, spa, fitness center and pool. The family really enjoyed the firepits and smores and riding bikes all over the property. Overall a great experience.

Pool was overly crowded and the food lacked the quality of the other facilities at the same prices. Fitness center is too small and cramped and when it's 100 degrees outside, it's the best place to get in a workout. Subtle tweaks here and it's a 10/10 all day.

The rooms at the inn were lovely, as was that entire facility. It was like going back in time. The sitting area near the lobby was very cozy, and we, as well as many others, took advantage of it. Roaring fire, games, reading, drink, coffee, etc.

The spa showers and steam room were moldy. The showers were not cleaned on our first visit, but we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try it again. However, the showers were not touched the next 2 visits as well. I know because here were empty plastic bottles left in the showers. The room we took was a king room. It was beautiful but had a small counter in the bathroom with no table in the entry where the mirror was located. Therefore, there wasn't a place for toiletries or make-up and hair items. It was extremely inconvenient, especially since the room next door with 2 queens had a large counter in the bathroom as well as a table in the entry with a seat to be used as a vanity.

We enjoyed the gardens,the fireplace at night and staff were generally friendly.I loved that I received a courtesy call a day prior to our visit.Wish I could stay longer but it was fully booked.Will definitely be back again!

Breakfast at the Beer Garden was very good. All employees were extremely friendly and personable.

No posted menu at Beer Garden. I was very disappointed that the resort was not very environmental friendly. I saw no recycling containers. Tho s'mores fireplaces were fun, a lot of smoke continued into the next day.

Beautiful place

There was leftover food in the mini fridge upon our arrival. Remind cleaning staff to check mini fridges when they clean the rooms.

Perfectly situated - beautiful resort nestled in the hills surrounded by forests…awesome golf course!

I like the comfortable sitting areas. I like Woodland Grill and the foods although the menu on the website has not been updated to coincide with the menu in the restaurant.

I didn’t like that the Beer Garden was only open on weekends.

Dinner was fairly decent. The room was cute but overlooked a parking lot for the cost would have preferred a garden to view.

The massage was over priced.
