Breakfast was first class. There was an individual clearing the tables in addition to lady providing the food. Clearing the tables created a smooth flow of diners, who were many. Also, I booked a standard room and was assigned a room with a walk-in-shower which, I believe was an upgrade. Would stay again. Was visiting granddaughter at V Tech.

I was not recognized at check-in. Was told my res must be at another HI. Had a dinner date and decided to determine the correct HI afterwards. Checking my phone later, I determined that my booking was correct. Returned to location and gave the clerk the booking #. She found that my reservation was confirmed as Michael without my last name. Problem solved. Determined that HI was not at fault. The fault was with Booking.com. Reservation person was not at fault and I told her so.

Spacious room, comfortable and clean

Breakfast was late, we were here for an event and on a very tight timeline. We had to go to the front desk and have them call the gentleman setting up and ask him to unlock the dairy cooler. The cinnamon buns were hard as a rock, the bananas were so green that they were inedible, and we had to rush because it wasn't up at 7 as advertised.

It was clean and the staff was very helpful. The lobby was clean and an open space to meet if needed. The room was clean and nice. I didn't realize that I had booked a suite, but it was fine since there was a pull-out couch to sleep on.

The pull-out couch did not have sheets or a blanket on it, so I slept on the couch without pulling it open. At 2AM is when I found the extra linen in a closet and that is when I was able to get a blanket to sleep with.

This hotel was absolutely amazing from the cleanest rooms to the best breakfast ever. All the employees that I meet was super nice and so helpful. The bed was absolutely perfect and felt like I was sleeping in a cloud, the tv was amazing, the coffee maker in the room had such a great selection. Everything there was just wonderful. We will stay there from now on when we come to visit our daughter at Va Tech for the next 3 years!!!

The room was great, two beds and a sleeper sofa worked great for our family of four, and the bathroom layout was good. the room was great for sleeping because it was dark with the blackout shades. The pool area was a lot of fun.

There wasn't a lot of things bad about this hotel. However the one improvement I could recommend would be to have more of a variety for breakfast.

Breakfast was great, and staff took care of our needs. Being somewhat displaced by hurricane Helene, it was nice to have an on-site guest laundry.

Not so much as a complaint, but curious why handicap rooms are not all on ground floor. A wheelchair during an emergency exit with stairs is useless on any floor other than ground.

The two connected rooms were great and allowed our party of 8 to be close together.

The Breakfast could have been better. The Scrambled Eggs tasted like they were made from the powder eggs. The bacon was not crisp, and a Waffle Maker would be an upgrade from the Pancake Maker.

Loved the fireplace and big screen tv in the lobby. Very welcoming. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful. We really enjoyed the layout of the room. It was nice to have a sofa and coffee table to enjoy drinks and snacks while watching the Hokies. Continental breakfast was good.

Night clerk Michael D. was rude, played on his phone all night, ignored my phone calls. Occupants in 505 and 507 were teenagers having a party all night long. Night clerk did nothing to stop the noise and he did not care either. He should have stayed home as he added NO value to the Holiday Inn Express at all.

This is our “go-to” stop between our homes in Tennessee and New York. It’s exceptional. So comfortable, lots of room, very clean. Nice free breakfast too. We were checked in and out by two very nice young men. We will be back on our next trip.

The first time we stayed I thought it was a tad far from the highway, but this makes it very quiet. It’s really only a few minutes from the highway. So we really like everything.
