The room was 10 star. Outstanding. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

It's hard to say as I liked the room and staff and management so much. Our room the Queens Bouduare was lovely but close to a Karaoke room. The noise was loud till 1am on Sat night. Ear plugs were provided in the room. I also dud not like ringing a door bell to regain entry when the venue was open-not so welcoming. On Sat night a bouncer questioned us even after explaining we were staying there after we came back from dinner.

Stayed 3 nights during week days. The room was spacious, quiet, very clean and the karaoke did not disturb me (was on Thursday but knew already about it and made sure to come back late). There was a fire alarm on the morning of my check out and there was no member of staff around to check its origin or set it off so it was ringing for more than 30’. Also the room was not properly serviced during my stay (one day was not tidied at all and second day they had just made the bed, not even emptied the bin). TBH I would have preferred to opt for not having it tidied up at all or else I expect it to be done more professionally. Nevertheless, I would like to stay there again.

We are repeat visitors to the Mad hatter. We love the quirky aesthetic, which has a luxury feel to it at the same time. The room is luxurious with a wonderful bed and essentials for a city break. The bathroom is also a wonder, with walk in shower and premium feel to it also. There are toiletries on offer in the shower, and the tea, coffee and sugar with the rooms kettle and cups allow for refreshments upon waking in the morning. The bed is comfortable with an adequate number of pillows and luxurious mattress and duvet to match. There is also a mini fridge, for keeping things cool if travelling, and a mini safe to keep belongings safe also. I can't fault the mad hatter at all, and the keyless entry is very accommodating for anyone worried about losing keys. We will be sure to join the mad hatters tea party next time we pass this way.

Everything was more than satisfactory

Loved the quirkiness of the hotel. The staff we met were really friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed and very interesting decor in rooms - the centre lampshade was a top hat! We enjoyed the bar and the cocktails very much and it was an easy walk into town, although we did use the bus from and back to the railway station.

We had asked for help with our bags on first and last days of our stay, but the staff member did not arrive on either day, although another staff member turned up for another reason on our arrival day and he helped us and others who were also waiting for help. On our last day no one came so we carried our bags down ourselves. The next day the room was not serviced but we asked the bar staff for milk and coffee refills so no problem. Enjoyed our stay but staffing did seem very disorganised.

If aesthetics matters to you, you'll love this hotel. The Alice in Wonderland theme was done in a way that was stylish, moody, and cool, not tacky or cartoonish. In addition, the bed and bedding were super comfortable, and the shower was phenomenal. The room wasn't large but it had plenty of room for moving around, unpacking, and getting dressed. The window opened fully, which was lovely for letting in cool breezes. The bar downstairs was not open while I was staying there, so I had zero noise issues. Finally, the customer service was great. They let me check in early and stored my luggage for me after checkout; and the employees that helped me upon my arrival and when I retrieved my luggage were really nice. So was the manager, who was easy to reach using WhatsApp.

The bathroom smelled strongly of toilet bowl cleaner - it wasn't a bad smell, just a strong smell. The room was on the top floor and there is no lift. I have no trouble with stairs but this could be an issue if you struggle with climbing.

My stay was great! The room was lovely and really convenient. It’s a really short and beautiful walk into town. It really was prefect for what I needed. I was a bit worried about the noise after reading some of the other reviews but I barely heard anything and the little bit that I did hear was easily blocked out by playing some white noise on my phone. I would absolutely recommend!

I visited in the middle of summer and we did have some hot days. The room did get a bit warm which I found a bit hard. A fan would have been perfect. Having said that, I never actually asked if one was available so this may have been on me. The only other thing is there were a lot of stairs. This didn’t bother me but might affect other people.

We stayed in Alice's Chambers and had a very comfortable stay. The room/bathroom smelt lovely and everything was immaculate. I thought the SLEEP WELL boxes that included an eye mask and ear plugs) were a nice touch, very thoughtful for guests. The bed was super comfy and my partner especially liked the shower. I really liked that you were able to control the water temperature with ease. Even the pressure quality of the tap was decent. My partner also really liked the dainty little teacups and even the ambient lighting of the lamps. The staff were friendly. When we came in from being out in the evening, one of the staff said that they were just closing the bar and asked if we would like a drink before they closed for the night.

I thought that the bathroom should've had a toilet brush in there.

The room was very comfortable, and the Staff were friendly. They even gave me two baby champagne bottles in a bucket with ice - but I couldn't drink it because I was trying to work on Night 1 and out with friends on nIght 2. But the space is quirky and fun, as long as you are not planning to work in the evenings. I would happily go there again when I don't need a quiet space in the evening.

The only issue was the noise from the karaoke bar and nightclub downstairs. I had not realised the B&B was above a nightclub when I booked it. I needed to work the first evening but that was impossible from 7.45. But I didn't mind it on the 2nd night as I was out anyway and not working. The doubling of the venue may be mentioned in the booking.com advert for transparency.

This place is so quirky . We loved everything about it . Rooms spotlessly clean, equipped with everything you need . The bed was really comfortable, the shower was amazing. Location is ideal for the centre. The bar was an added bonus, again very quirky. We even had a couple of individual bottles of Prosecco left in our room as a thank you . This was a lovely touch as well . Wouldn’t hesitate to come back, although we would want to have a different room …just cos we can !!! Well done The Mad Hatter !!!

The room I stayed in was comfortable and nicely decorated in an Alice in Wonderland theme with quirky touches such as the cushions and tea cups. The bathroom was a good size, which was a welcome change from the small bathrooms that often come with an en-suite room. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed the rainfall shower. It was useful having a fridge to store snacks and a few breakfast items. I stayed for two nights (Sunday and Monday) so the guestrooms were quite quiet. The online check-in was straightforward and I had no problems with the access codes. Although it's a short walk to the city centre, the Hatter is on a bus route and there are regular buses to the city centre and the rail station.

The room was quite warm as the weather was fairly humid during my stay, but luckily a fan had been provided.
