As in the information it's SO different and makes a memorable visit for sure. Very very comfortable. Amazing decor and artefacts. Exceptionally clean. Great location and most times easy parking. A truly FUN venue and memorable stay. Congratulations guys!

Having to use extension lead under the bed for kettle and hair drier just a tad inconvenient. As our room next to the gorgeous living room the music ,which plays on loop, was a tad distracting at times. Is a lovely touch but maybe could be turned down a tad..l could have asked this to be fair. Just minor comments on what is a TIP TOP and FUN venue!

It's an incredible place, never stayed anywhere like it. The art and the decor were fascinating, and everywhere you look, you see something else that you hadn't seen before. A lovely ambience with Reed defusers and relaxing piped music throughout. Iain and Jack couldn't be more helpful and even moved their car out of its garage so we could park our motorbike securely. Our room had a shared bathroom, which, despite my misgivings, proved not to be an issue. We will definitely be back Pip +Jayne.

Nothing we didn't like but, be aware there is no carpark. parking outside is on a first come, first served basis on street parking . But there are plenty of car parks in close vicinity.

We were made so welcome & told history of the property by Iain & Jack which was very interesting. The venue was ideal for what we wanted. Decor was quirky & all the candles/smellies/toiletries around made the property smell amazing. Scones for us on arrival was a lovely touch. Nothing was too much trouble. Very helpful with anything we needed & did everything to make our time relaxing & enjoyable. We loved the property & would be more than happy to recommend it to others & will hopefully look to stay again. Thank you Iain, Jack & Gracie

I find it hard to find any fault .. if I have to then it would be that maybe we could have been offered clean towels during our stay as we had the same ones … one each .. for 4 nights.

Iain and Jack were extremely welcoming and it seemed that nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and the communal sitting area was very unique. A lot of history surrounds the house and it was explained to us in detail. Breakfast was delicious for an extra £10 each. We highly recommend the accommodation and wouldn't hesitate in using it again!

The house, the design of the rooms and especially the colour scheme are extraordinary and have inspired us to be bolder in our own house in terms of colour design. Jack has helped to make our holiday one of the best in recent years with many tips on special places. Above all, we will remember his warm and friendly manner.

I had a bad feeling about the video surveillance in the living room and hallway, which we only discovered last evening. It would be advisable to have a visible indication of video surveillance in the living room, so that people could decide whether they wanted to be exposed to it.

The owner couldn't have been more helpful in letting us store our bikes in his garage and telling us about parking near the property.. Breakfast was delicious and served just when we asked for it.

The arrangements for boiling the kettle was a bit of a hazard. Our supply of tea bags was not topped up for our second day. However we didn't ask for more and I'm sure we would have been given them.

They are jovial and warm, welcoming and familiar and they gave us the best advice for every facet of our stay. They are the Devon and Cornwall tour guides that we didn’t expect, but certainly needed and we are SO grateful. Every time we would leave or arrive, the boys would pop their heads out of the front door to make sure we were sorted. This is the kind of service you could only expect from the best 5 star hotels. The property was also INCREDIBLE. We didn’t want to leave. It was clean and comfortable and homely, the boys have done an exceptional job on the design. It feels like home, but better decorated. The toiletries were out of this world. I didn’t need to wash my hair, but I did, because smelling like geranium felt like an opportunity I shouldn’t miss out on. We cannot wait to come back. We received a super welcome from Ian and Jack. The history of the house is fascinating, making the stay that bit more special. We were in the apartment where the fragrant welcome strikes you as you enter. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished, retaining a rustic charm inkeeping with the period of the house. The small 'kitchen area' is all you need, great fridge too. We were able to use the living room upstairs, so felt as if we were more than just guests. Ian and Jack are the consumate hosts, with nothing being too much to ask. If you're staying in Tavistock, this is the place to stay.

Parking was hit and miss outside the house, but we were fine with that as there are cheap carparks nearby. We did park the car in the available spaces between 16:00 and 10:00.

I highly recommend this beautiful guest house to anyone visiting the area. The owner couldn't have been any nicer when I arrived, spending time showing me around and explaining where everything was. The location is right in the heart of Tavistock. So everything is all within a short walking distance. The room was lovely with the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in. Everything was exceptionally well presented with high standards of cleanliness. I really couldn't recommend One Drake Road highly enough.

As you can probably gather from what I have written previously I really struggle to find any faults. The only thing which I found slightly annoying was the guests in the next room. They were a tad loud when they arrived back in from town. However, thankfully it didn't last long and soon the old house was silent again. That was just individual guests though and shouldn't reflect badly on this wonderful guest house.
