The beach is pristine and very well kept. Enjoyed the morning walk with my wife . The coral reef was mesmerizing and not too far away. Getting to the reef drop zone was very well marked. Had an amazing snorkeling experience which I did twice a day and practically covered the whole area. The Vila snorkeling was my best lifetime experience. A heartfelt thanks to Viyaan and team who gave there 100% who went above and beyond to make our trip absolutely worthwhile. Witnessing 3 whale sharks and 3 manta rays was beyond my wildest expectations. We indulged in a feast at The Funama and ate to our hearts' content. Although we couldn't manage to try everything, we had the opportunity to sample a wide variety, making it a truly delightful dining experience.

waited at Male airport for 4 hours for the sea plane transfer to the resort . Missed lunch and ruined much of the first day . Price for soft drinks, beer and wine has increased considerably over previous years .

This was the second time we visited Vilamendhoo. This island is the paradise but it’s affordable when it comes to the Maldives high prices. The rooms are fantastic and the service is flawless. The house reef is definitely worth it and you can see a lot. Ocean discovery full day trip is recommended.

It was our second time so we already knew what to expect. But still they were able to pleasantly suprise us. Everything was superb, staff is super fast and attentive, organisation is on the highest level. Food was very good, accomodation perfect. Island is well maintained. And ofc. the reef. We have visited many resorts but still this one is our favorite because it has fantastic rich coral reef perfect for long snorkeling. Infinity pool is also one of the stars of the resort. All in all the whole resort and people working there makes you feel relaxed and just enjoy.

This is not some negative, more like a suggestion. Staff was superb and many times we actually wanted to reward them extra for that but it is very hard to leave the tip because its not like we have paper bills in pockets, specially on such a nice and relaxed vacation on tropical resort wearing only swim shorts and t shirt. Maybe adding another column on the bills that guests are signing after they order something, where they can also add some amount for the tip for the staff.

Since I’m not a very confident swimmer, I greatly appreciated the house reef which was just a few meters from the seashore. I was provided with a free life vest which made snorkeling much easier. It was also fascinating to see so many baby sharks just swimming by your feet at the seashore… the sand is powdery white and very fine (but not the sand in the sea, which is already pebbly)… food is great … the room is spacious and clean; the bed and pillows are very comfortable… I love the open air bathroom

Vilamendhoo offers a variety of different excursions which are in my eyes a highlight of this island. Staff is open to fulfill your wishes regarding everything.

The richness of housereef was a adisappointment for me since I have seen some better housereefs in relation to preservation of corals. Nevertheless you can see turtles, sting rays, muranes and many colorful fishes.

The resort was fantastic for us as we love peace and quiet and snorkelling, all of which we had in abundance. We had a standalone bungalow just off the beach. The beach was clean, with fine white sand. Snorkelling: The house reef started not far off the beach and extended to the drop-off which is where most of the action was. Snorkelling along the drop-off was incredible. On good days the visibility was more than 40 feet down, and we were literally surrounded by fish of all sorts. The largest fish we saw was a Napolean wrasse which appeared suddenly next to us on the reef. Several small sharks could be seen throughout the day. You can snorkel around most of the island - they give you a map and guide on the entry and exit points to the house reef. Food: Great. We went for the full-board option, with buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plenty of options at all meals. Bars: Wonderful. Chilling out at the Asian Wok bar at the tip of the island is a must - almost 360 degree ocean views. Staff: Friendly, attentive and professional.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Vilamendhoo. It was our first time to the Maldives and this resort surpassed our expectations. We spent most of our holiday underwater, either snorkeling around the house reef or diving on the excursions organised by the dive centre. The house reef was incredible - we saw an abundance of sharks, rays, a huge array of fish, octopus etc. We couldn't have asked for better!!! We actually saw a lot more snorkeling around the house reef (for free!) than we did on the diving trips. We spent half of our stay in a water villa with jacuzzi, and half of our stay in a beach villa - I highly recommend this combo! It made the holiday slightly more cost effective but also allowed us to experience different sides to the island. The water villa was a dream... being able to snorkel right outside it was perfect and it was a lovely place to watch the sunset. It was a spacious room with a large bathroom and as it was our anniversary at this time of year, they made a lovely bed display which was a nice touch. The beach villa was also wonderful; not quite as luxurious but came with loungers right on the beach and again - very easy access to the incredible house reef. Both north and south side of the island are good for different reasons! We also loved the food in both restaurants and the infinity pool and I adore the fact that you can remain barefooted for your entire stay. I didn't wear shoes for a week! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, particularly in the restaurants. The sea plane was very expensive but it was an unforgettable experience! Thank you for a lovely stay. If we return to the Maldives, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

There's really nothing major to fault here as it was a truly wonderful experience, but something to note is the expense of diving on the island. You not only pay per dive, but you also pay for the rental of the equipment per dive as opposed to per trip. For example, if you go one 1 excursion with 3 dives, you will pay for equipment 3 seperate times on top of the 3 dives and boat trip - obviously this can quickly rack up to hundreds of dollars for one trip with no guarantees of marine life. As mentioned above, we didn't actually see anything diving which couldn't be seen from the house reef.

This is my as second stay in Vilamendhoo. It is a pure heaven! The house reef is world class — sharks, turtles, rays, moral eel, wrasse, trevally, grouper, etc. everything! I also did a vila snorkeling tour, swam with whale sharks and manta rays again. I stayed at a jacuzzi overwater bungalow this time. It is heaven — surrounded by ocean, swim from my porch, shark and sting ray are uninvited guests passing by, relaxing in jacuzzi. The food is great. The service is impeccable. You can see the fish phasing by while being massaged. The value is unbeatable. This is the best resort in Maldives. No need to look further.

The adult only policy keeps family away from the overwater bungalows. Last time when I came here with my daughter, we could not enjoy the overwater bungalow. Maybe the resort can relax the rules to teenagers.

We just returned from an incredible stay at Vilamendhoo! Never bean in September but we had a perfect holiday dispute raining two days. Accommodations: The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, making it the perfect home away from home. Food: The dining experience at Asian Wok is exceptional. Each meal was a delightful journey. The variety and quality of the food were outstanding, truly elevating our all-inclusive experience. Snorkeling: The snorkeling here is phenomenal! The house reef is teeming with life! Swimming with manta rays on house reef near Asian Wok restaurant was the highlight of our stay. We also spotted white and black tip sharks, turtles, eagle rays and hundreds of colorful fish, all on the house reef! If you snorkell every day, you will se amazing stuff underwater. Although the reef is not what it was 12 years ago, it still has its beatuties and some coral is recovering. Bars: The bars were top-notch, offering a fantastic selection of cocktails and beverages. The staff was always ready with a smile, making our time at the bar just as enjoyable as our time in the water. Staff: Speaking of the staff, they truly went above and beyond. Every member was friendly, attentive, and eager to ensure our stay was perfect. Their warmth and professionalism made us feel right at home. Overall Experience: The all-inclusive package at Vilamendhoo is simply perfect. Every aspect of our stay was catered to perfection, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment. If you’re looking for an unforgettable vacation filled with stunning underwater experiences and top-tier hospitality, look no further. We can’t wait to return!
