The hotel was built just a few months ago (ready for guests Nov 2023) so overall it looks good. It is clean and the hotel crew is kind and ready to help. Breakfast was good. Rooftop dinner is awesome. AC works good. You can book nice excursions via hotel.

The noise level was a little bit disturbing as the hotel is placed near the electric station of the island. Breakfast can be much more varied. Menu for lunch and dinner is expensive. TV has no channel that can be watched (can be used only if you have a Netflix account or youtube). You can't pay in local currency (MVR), even though you are on a local island. What bothered me most about this hotel was the price payed for the transport from Male to Dhigurah (65 $ per way). I found out on the boat that for the same trip other people were paying only 400 MVR (around 25 $). We payed directly at the hotel. There is also a gov tax (TGST) of 16% + 10% service charge that you need to take into consideration when paying for every extra service.

The service was excellent, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.There were lots of activities, including manta and whaleshark snorkelling. The island itself is a bit secluded, but the scenery is extraordinary. Mr Imran was always accessible if we ever needed anything. He always went the extra mile to ensure we were happy and felt taken care of. He is a great asset to the hotel!

If you're not a beach or marine enthusiast, there isn't that much else to do on the island.

The staff were so kind. Organised our transfers, excursions and were generally so helpful. Perfect location and a beautiful island. Close to the beach. Clean, spacious rooms and everything was new. Rooftop with sea views. Lovely breakfast.

We loved our stay at Whaleshark Beach and are super happy about our decision as we think it is one of the best or even the best hotel on Dhigurah. My partner has a dairy allergy and we could easily speak to the chef everyday to make clear that the food does not contain any of these. That was amazing. You can fill up your water bottle in the hotel, which seems like a small benefit but it is actually huge as you do not have to go to a store everyday and carry big bottles in the heat. The rooms, the wifi, the staff, everything was really nice. And the hotel has probably the best tour guide and crew you could ask for. We did two full day tours and saw a whale shark, Mantas, turtles and more. We loved that we do not have to jump off the boat. They had a leather or you could easily go from the end of the boat as it was almost the same hight as the water. Again, seems like a small thing but for us it was a big advantage.

Everything about our stay was perfect! The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always making sure we felt welcome. They even surprised us with a cake in our room to celebrate our honeymoon, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The room was spacious and well-equipped, with all the necessary amenities. There was hot water (though occasionally it got quite hot, so finding the sweet spot was key), and we loved that we could connect our Netflix or Prime profiles to the TV for a relaxing evening. One detail that stood out was the complimentary water fountain available for guests to use, such a refreshing change from places where you're charged for bottled water. The flexibility offered with the excursions was fantastic; it allowed us to enjoy plenty of snorkeling and spot all the local wildlife. We truly wished we could have stayed longer to soak up more of this amazing experience!

Hotel is newly open and is phenomenal. Staff is lovely and caring. Our manager organised a speedboat transfer from the airport and back. He also arranged many more activities such as whale shark, manta rays...

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was nicely furnished and very comfortable, providing everything we needed for a relaxing visit. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, always ensuring that our needs were met with a smile. A special mention goes to the manager, who was incredibly professional, friendly, and always willing to assist, making our experience even better. The food at the hotel was delicious, and we enjoyed every meal. The hotel’s location was excellent. We also appreciated the various excursion options available, which added an extra layer of enjoyment to our stay. The air conditioning worked perfectly, the Wi-Fi was very fast, and the take away breakfast provided on our departure day was a thoughtful gesture that we greatly appreciated. Overall, we felt that the hotel offered great value for the price.

However, there were a few areas where improvement would enhance the guest experience. The fridge in room didn’t cool properly, which was a bit inconvenient. Activating the television required contacting the reception, which could be simplified. We were only provided with two small bottles of water daily; larger bottles would be more practical. There were no instructions in multiple languages in the room, which would have been helpful. Lastly, the light switches were only located by the bed, which wasn’t the most convenient setup. Additionally, the breakfast menu repeated itself with only minor variations, and it would have been nice to see more diversity in the options.
