Beautiful location and an unusual place to stay which will stand out in your memory. I found the atmosphere and decor down-to earth in a nice way, saying that the rooms are lovely; very well appointed, clean and well cared for. The views are stunnning and it is pleasant to fall asleep to the sound of the river. The dinner was very good and the service a delight. There is also a shop, and a vending machiine sellling snacks and drinks (including beer and wine), in a room where one can sit if eating between restaurant times. Also a few nice garden areas scattered around the old monastic building. A great base to explore the surrounding area, and exelllent value for money.

Nearly everything at this hotel exceeded our expectations, from the simple but perfectly comfortable room, to the restaurant, the staff, and the location. Enjoyed looking around the shop and picked up some beautiful, one-of-a-kind earrings and other gifts. When the restaurant is closed, their new vending machine provides delicious homemade sandwiches, snacks, and desserts. The staff were incredibly friendly and hard-working and they take pride in their work, and it really shows!

Nothing at all; everything was perfect.

Nice large bedroom with a comfortable bed with view on the stream and in a quiet part of the hotel. Perfect for lovers of nature and to visit all the gorgeous little villages around. The staff were fantastic with a warm welcome and checkout from Nathalie. The room was very warm too.

I slept so well that I missed the breakfast - maybe a tea and coffee facility in the room would be nice. The TV could be bigger.

Rooms were símple and functional- in the style of the former priory? No air con but rooms were naturally cool. Easy access to the mountains by summer shuttle bus which took us up to casterino for beautiful walks. Also nice walk to La Brigue from hotel.

The restaurant only served one choice of meal in the evening. This should have been made clear on booking as we were travelling with a vegan and there were no other options to eat in walking distance.

Everything was astonishingly pleasant! The hotel staff as a whole was always available to help and very friendly, though never excessively. A guy with long dark hair and glasses was sincerely the best hotel clerk I have ever had the pleasure to encounter in my whole life. The room and every part of the hotel was clean and orderly. The food was marvellous as well and not expensive: for 19 euros I ate a creamy lentils soup with coconut milk and a stunning filet mignon laid on mashed sweet potatoes (which you can see in the only photo of the hotel).There was a lot of attention also to details, for example, we arrived to Le Prieuré after a big hike near Tende (you can see two photos of it, in one you can spot the sea in the horizon! Tende is truly a magical place) and the room was already heated: a dream come true. The remaining photo is Tende in the sunset, although Le Prieuré is not exactly in Tende, but 5 minutes from it, I did not take any photo of the hotel, but I can assure that the location is great. In short, I can only recommend Le Prieuré especially considering the price!!! Best hotel I have ever been to.

A beautiful location with lovely staff. Nearby the hotel there is a bakery and the bus stops just before the hotel which is convenient.

The breakfast was a little disappointing

No vegetarian meal option at dinner at the hotel restaurant and we had to take the car and go to a village nearby to find something

Clean room, great location, friendly staff, veggie options for the evening dinner. Check in was efficient and quick, as was check out. Great value.

Very comfortable big bed and a great shower. It was a large room that was nice and clean. Amazing amount of space for a very decent price.

The room itself was large, modern and clean, but the building was a maze and reminded a bit of an old hospital. The illogical layout made it hard for us to find our room. We had to pass through a couple of doors that looked like fire escapes and at first we were worried we'd trigger an alarm by opening them. Maybe they can post a note on them for future guests.
