Booked in with a machine in the entrance! Thank goodness there was a Very Helpful and Pleasant chap (night porter perhaps ??) there to assist as the machine had us guessing at times even though you can select your language of choice. We took the lift (elevator) to the 2nd floor which is appreciated after a long drive. Room was in excellent order and we had a very good nights rest. Bathroom was lovely and clean with enough bathroom supplys and lots of hot water for the large shower.

The cafe was closed, we were unaware until arrival, and we were given a map and directions to a restaurant in town.

SatNav location has difficulty if not exiting main road at advised Salida. The property would benefit from better signing visible from main road and at entrance. In poor weather and in the dark it is very easy to miss it and this then requires a roundabout journey to try to locate it again - using two different SatNavs. It is theoretically very simple to find. Exit at the stated exit and drive slowly as you do as it is almost on the slip road itself.

Easy access .... BUT ONLY FROM THE MAIN CARRETERA!! Good value for money.

BEWARE; DO NOT approach via the town centre.Google maps insisted that I could access this hostel from the town, but you CANNOT; (the road ends with a kerb and raised verge, despite Google maps insisting otherwise). After being guided around in circles in the dark, arriving at the same point every time (!!!), I parked the car, walked through the gap, and only then was able to confirm that I needed an alternative approach!

As we were two hours late arriving at Santander we notified the Hostal who assured us not to worry as they were now aware we may be late checking in. The room was spotlessly clean and larger than I expected( or paid for!!). Shame is was only for one night.

Check-in was easy, and the price is good. Rooms are clean and, bathroom is nice, but shower screen is becoming loose and needs attention. Free WiFi is good, but TV channels are limited - would be good to have some UK TV. Breakfast was fine - Coffee, Tostada, Croissant and Confiture - all good.

The ongoing issue of the room being too hot. Even with the radiator turned right down and the wall thermostat turned down, the room was still too hot for us. Cannot just open the window as traffic noise becomes too much and didn't want to mess around with the A/C although have had to do this in the past.

Greeted at reception by Nicole who was very polite & helpful. The room was very clean as was the en suite with a roomy shower & clean towels. Bed was comfy with clean bedding. Having a lift to the hotel floors was a bonus. Good Wi Fi access.

We had a disturbed night due to aeroplane traffic no doubt to & from Madrid airport. This is for information only & not meant to reflect badly on the Hostal, we were given a room away from road traffic but they cannot do anything about the airport and we would stay again after packing some ear plugs.

Staff.:. the gentleman at reception was extremely helpful Facilities: very comfortable, everything you'd need overnight, very well kept and very clean

The town of El Molar. It was dirty, the ayuntamiento do not keep the town clean. The tourist "highlight" --- the bodegas-- were closed

It was clean, comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is situated perfectly along the E5 for those overnighting en route to / from the ferry ports of Santander and Bilbao. The hotel has a bar which offers sandwiches and there are a few cafes and restaurants in town, around 15 minutes walk.

Very comfortable compact rooms. Helpful manager and staff we met. Excellent value for money.

It can be awkward to find in the dark. I’m not keen on the new automatic machine to sign in but the owner was there to assist.

The room was clean and the facilities were good such as the WiFi worked. The staff were also helpful. We would stay again as it exceeded our expectations for the accommodation and facilities.

Noisy, being close to a busy road and with our room facing the roadside. Also, El Molar does not have many places to eat but the location is convenient for an overnight stopover.
