The property was so full of character and lovely and cool in the very hot weather! It was central to so many places and in a lovely area. Noëlla was an amazing host. Nothing was too much trouble. She just loved looking after us. The breakfast was wonderful and she went to get fresh bread and pastries each morning from the Boulangerie. The bed was very comfortable and there was a good shower. The terrace was a lovely place to sit in the evening! We really felt at home with Noëlla and her daughter. We hope to return one day! Thank you for being so kind to us!

La Forge is the quintessential French Chambre d'hotes. Stunning property, amazing host and delightful company. On our travels we have been lucky enough to stay in some amazing places and this finished off the French leg of our journey perfectly. Noella, our host, made us incredibly welcome, and despite the lack of English, she spoke French slowly and deliberately so that we could converse. In fact, if you want to improve your French, go stay with Noella.

The property is perfectly placed for the St Malo ferry but is a distance from restaurants. Noella no longer offers an evening meal, but very kindly allowed us to use her kitchen and there is a supermarket a few KMs away. Either arrive fed, or with something you can prepare.

Wonderful welcome and very nice breakfast. Charming building with an interesting history. Great walking for us and our dogs in the adjacent countryside. Close to our friends in Cancale and a good point from which to tour the region.

The property is isolated from restaurants and other businesses, and unfortunately, there is a busy highway nearby, so there is some traffic noise, though it quiets down at night. Our room had an "ensuite" but with the large bathtub, it was cramped. Ask for one of the larger rooms!

The building is spectacular,the room was beautifully furnished and the very nice lady that owns it is lovely and very helpful. A bit out of the way which was perfect for us, quiet and scenic location. We enjoyed our bottle of wine on the terrace in the sun in the evening.Breakfast was lovely with fresh bread, croissants and home made jams and cheese….

we had a toilet outside of the room which my Mrs was a little bothered by about having to leave the room in the night if necessary,but as no one else was staying and our room was on its own corner of the building it was fine.

Characterful building and very accommodating hosts. We were made to feel welcome and encouraged to make ourselves at home. Breakfast was beautiful and they laid a table for us to bring our own bits for dinner which was thoughtful.

Was right next to a really busy road and the room was a little on the small side for us (we had to put a travel cot in).

La Forge is in a beautiful, quiet location within easy reach of the main road between Rennes and Saint Malo and as you turn into the drive it looks like something out of a picture book; little turrets and pretty windows. The house was built towards the end of the last century by the family of the wonderful hostess. We couldn't have been more thoughtfully welcomed and were only sorry that we could stay for just one night. We would certainly love to stay there again and for more than one night next time; it's a very special place.

Honestly can't think of a single thing that could have been improved upon.

The accommodation was spotless clean and very comfortable we were made to feel at home buy the owner and had the use of the lounge and kitchen. Breakfast was excellent served in the dining room with a lot of homemade patisseries. Traveling with dogs we were made to feel welcome.

Unfortunately, we could not get any Wi-Fi as the and the location is very rural with limited phone coverage. A car is a must to travel to the local town for a meal which was excellent.

The house is beautiful!! Even magical.. the host is so lovely 😍 in spite of the language difficulties, we felt as if a good fairy is taking care of us. Thank you, Noelle!

A charming property with a friendly and welcoming host, despite the language barriers. All the guests shared breakfast & conversation around a large dining table, which made for a pleasant experience.

Not particularly near anything, but not a problem if you have a car.
