Due to uncertainty over circumstances that may have delayed our trip, we booked the Oakhurst Inn as a base for spending 3 nights near Yosemite very last minute. The Inn is what you'd expect from 2 star accommodation, but with a few really nice benefits. Firstly, the room size was generous. Secondly, the self-serve breakfast was super efficient and included with the standard booking - this was really helpful when we were up early to get to the hiking trails. Locaiton wise, you are ~20mins from the south entrance of Yosemite (~45mins from the valley itself), which is about as good as you're going to get unless you booked well in advance to stay inside the park or have plenty $$$ to spare. The town has everything you need and was a great base for our stay.

The soundproofing in the rooms isn't the best, though my experience of cheap through to very fancy hotels is that this is the case in most places, so it would be unfair to say this is a specific issue of the Oakhurst Inn. We had some loud footed neighbours above us, but nothing that caused issues - some long hikes in Yosemite and we slept like babies every night!

The location was great! If you are exploring South Yosemite, especially Mariposa Grove, it's less then half an hour from there. There are many restaurants around the area and the view was lovely. It was the perfect place to stay one night after a long day of hiking!

The breakfast area had a lot of bees outside so there was no where to sit.

The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Let me have an hour later check out upon request. I really enjoyed the breakfast, waffles, sausages, omelettes, what not to love. Beds were quite comfortable. It was a very convenient location for our day trip to Yosemite NP but we liked being in a town with all the shops, restaurants and services. Our room was a good size for us to pack ALL our bags for our long haul flight.

Small gripe. The breakfast area was quite crowded and congested and the pillows weren't super comfortable but I'm quite fussy. Also although every time I had a shower it was hot my daughter did have a tepid shower one night

The staff was nice, Leslie, the front desk clerk, was gracious, and patient with all the guest. The room was clean, with a microwave,, mini fridge and coffee maker. My favorite Mexican restaurant was right across the street from the hotel, so I didn't have to drive, for dinner. The price of the hotel was reasonable for those on a budget

I didn't like that the TV wasn't working properly, only 1 stations came in clear, the other one was Spanish speaking stations. It would have been nice to watch a good movie after checking in for the evening. The hotel has installed a $100.00 security deposit, that's refundable, in case people trash or demange the room. My advice Don't Trash out the rooms.

Everything was great! Breakfast was great! Great location for Yosemite and the lake and other activities. I stayed for 5 days and it was perfect. Diane the breakfast lady made great meals and keeps the area clean and stocked with food items. We loved the mattress! Never woke up with a backache like I do at home. The only thing is we had low water pressure when showering but that was still okay. What I loved about the Inn was the plants/garden around the facility. Very well kept facility. I’d recommend to anyone and if I went back to this area, I’d stay there again. The stay made my vacation great!

It was conveniently located 15mins from the South Gate of Yosemite. Although we didn’t try it, it had breakfast included and just what we needed w/o a hefty price tag. All areas of the property were lite, so we felt safe leaving our cars. 

We stayed there for 6days and housekeeping didn’t check to see if we needed anything until the day before we left. We did have an issue with/our toilet and once I told front desk they did have someone come out to fix it, but staff isn’t the friendliest like they were there to make friends if u kno what I mean. But when u see so many ppl I guess I prob wouldn’t be either. Our fridge froze everything, that was a pain.

The breakfast was very nice on two days, then on Wednesday, they did not have sausage or biscuits. The room is nice, although small. Fortunately the adjoining patio was sufficiently large. It should have propane heaters in cool weather, but it was fine during our stay. The lobby is attractive and suits the mountain location very well. Our window could be opened. That's always a nice option. The heater and A/C unit worked and was quiet. The room had lots of floor space for our duffle bags filled with just-in-case-of snow (and snowshoeing) winter clothing. But no table for eating a snack or sharing a map. The chairs were truly comfortable, as was the bed.

The bathtub was very slippery. It needs a rubbery non-slip bathmat (as provided by Holiday Inn Express). Also, the bathroom tile is like glass, or ice. When wet, it is extremely slippery. Take shower shoes for safety! The light switch for the bathroom is OUTSIDE the bathroom - which creates some inconvenience - even when I put a nightlight into the outlet near the sink & vanity. The toilet room is either totally dark or totally lit during the night because there is no outlet in that room for a nightlight. Bring a little camping lantern to illuminate the bathroom.

The location, price, and setting were great. The pool is accessible with a lift chair and well maintained. The breakfast options were great and the staff were very helpful. The rooms were very spacious.

Breakfast is great but the room/space for it needs work. People are barely able to move around each other and there isn't enough seating even with the patio If you like a softer mattress then the beds are fine. I prefer a firm mattress and had a tough time getting comfortable.

+ Breakfast is great there, with many different options to choose from - scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, bread, cheese, jams, and more + Localisation is also great, a 30-60 minute drive to national park, the town itself also offers many stores, restaurants, little shops + The hotel is quite big, offering many rooms and with many parking places + Clean, comfortable rooms with coffee machines inside

- A very small eating area, everyone keeping bumping into each other, waiting lines were a norm to make waffles or toasts, people coming to eat sometimes had to wait for a table to sit down - Personnel at the reception was not always present in working times, we witnessed how guests who just arrived couldn't check-in as no one was there

Our stay at this property near Yosemite was absolutely perfect! The location was unbeatable, just a short drive from the park's entrance, making it incredibly convenient for our daily adventures. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of options to start our day right. And to top it off, the price was very reasonable, offering fantastic value for such a prime location. Highly recommend this gem for anyone visiting Yosemite!
