Location is great especially if you need quick and easy access to the train station like we did. Take the bus up to the historic center of Assisi. The taxi we took was overpriced but we were in hurry. That's just a travel tip and nothing to do with the hotel. The location is walkable to restaurants in Santa Maria degli Angeli which was a nice surprise. The included breakfast was very good and I enjoyed our room's balcony. The elevator was appreciated to get luggage up to our room and after all the walking we did. Overall a very pleasant stay at the Hotel Moderno and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Assisi.

Location was perfect for a visit to Assisi directly across street from bus/train station and shuttle bus stop in Santa Maria Degli Angeli. Room was spacious with a large comfortable bed and well equipped bath. Staff was welcoming and pleasant throughout hotel. Check in time is 12 PM - a rarity nowadays! Included breakfast buffet was standard European continental breakfast loaded with fresh baked pastries! Overall an excellent stay and will be our go to hotel in Assisi for future trips! Highly recommend!!

I had a very early train out of Assisi at the end of my stay so the location of this hotel (right across from the train station) was amazing. The staff were really friendly, and the breakfast was also lovely - although please note it was not a hot breakfast and was mainly croissants and cakes - they do offer coffee though! They also had free wifi which was super useful!

The location was perfect for my purposes, however, if you are looking to stay near the centre (where the Basilica of St.Francis is) you would need to get a bus from the station to get there. The airconditioning did not work in my room either but I was not too upset by this as I can tolerate the heat.

Very convenient location and the breakfast was very good, especially when the eggs were freshly cooked. The coffee was also properly made. The hotel was next to the train station which was very convenient for traveling.

I was staying on the top floor. The second night there were the repetitive sound of water (sounds like water pumped into a water tank) which runs for about half an hour, then stopped for about 30 minutes, then starts again. This lasted the whole night.

The location is right in front of the train station, which is very convenient for people who need to catch a train. It's also very convenient for taking a bus to visit attractions. The people here are very friendly. I had to catch a very early train, and a young woman immediately noticed and helped me pack breakfast. All the services here show that this place truly deserves to be called a holy city. Thank you for your help. I look forward to coming again.

Hotel was steps from the train station, but could not hear from room. The staff was excellent. Reasonable rates. Easy access to video a bus to the hill city or walking to the low town. Hotel allowed us to check out late for a reasonable fee. We ate dinner there one night and really enjoyed our meal. Definitely would stay again.

Because of a rail strike we found we needed to stay in Assisi for an extra day and we were glad the the Hotel Moderno was available and right across the street from the train station. It was clean and modern and had everything that we needed. The staff was kind and friendly and we enjoyed a breakfast before we left the next day.

it was difficult communicating what we were allowed to do...some tables were set for others and we were not supposed to be at those tables. Breakfast Might be typical for there but not for us. There was no protein...only sweets and breads and cereals.

The hotel staff were excellent and very polite. They took care of us very diligently and ensured that we were served very well. Breakfast was very delicious with a very good selection of pastries. On our last day of our stay they arranged for us to have an early breakfast. Dinner at the hotel's restaurant was also very good. The location is only a few minutes away by car from Assisi, which was our main visiting attraction.

Convenient family run hotel that is right across the street from the train station. We walked up to Assisi and back for a day trip. Loved the family business atmosphere with Papa greeting us, son checking us in, returning from Assisi to find the family watching tv in the lobby and Papa snoring. Our room had a lovely terrace that overlooked the quiet street below, the train station and the Santa Maria degli Angeli in the distance.

We've had some really excellent breakfasts on our trip and an exc rating usu means exc pastries i.e. cronetti and good selection. Hotel Moderno's had a good selection of items but their pastries were good not exc.
