We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Hotel Restaurant La Centenaire. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were lovely and comfortable, the food was delicious. Owned and operated by a young couple, Chloe and Mathieu Métifet, they have been updating and reimagining the traditional hotel. Mathieu is the chef of the two wonderful hotel restaurants and Chloe manages the wonderful staff (special shout outs to Zoe, Perrine and Virginia). The hotel uses locally made soaps and shampoos. Julie gives great massages. The hotel is conveniently located for exploring the Dordogne, including cave art at Lascaux, Font de Gaume, Les Combarelles and Abri Cap Blanc and the castles along the Dordogne River.

Our stay was exceptional, one of the top hotels we have ever stayed, in terms of service and quality of the room. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Sara with a drink of raspberry-flavored tea. Although there is no lift, they had someone take up heavy luggage up to our room. To our surprise, we got upgraded to the suite with a sauna. Thank you, Hotel Centenaire! The hotel is very environmentally conscious and does not use plastic products. Upon check-in, we were given choices of shampoo/conditioner and body soap bars plus shea butter which were put on a decorative tray. Although we were not able to dine at their restaurant (it was full), they made a reservation for us at a nearby restaurant, La Maison, which was quite nice too. The prix fixe breakfast was sumptuous with generous basket of bread and a huge cookie. For the two of us, we only ordered one breakfast and ordered coffee a omelet a la carte instead. The location is a perfect home base for visiting the touristy town of Sarlat and Lascaux IV, both ~25 minutes away. The cave of Font du Gaume is within walking distance. Above all, the service was exceptional. Thank you Sara, Chloe and Alice!

I am going to give them 10/10 simply because the location is stunning, the hotel has a lovely vibe and the staff is great. There is little things to improve but it still deserve exceptional feedback

The shower wasn’t working properly abd it takes a while to get the correct temperature. It would be useful to have the possibility to put on the door please make the room so the cleaning is done while we are out. Air con downstairs would allow to sit there during hot days

Hôtel le Centenaire was wonderful and exceeded our expectations. The staff and owners are friendly, professional and accommodating. They immediately put us at ease which let us relax. Chloé gave us some great recommendations on things to do which surprised us by being some of our favorite sights in our whole trip. The room was spacious and comfortable with a fantastic, updated bathroom. We appreciated how environmentally friendly they were. The hotel is in a great location that made it easy to get everywhere we wanted. And we cannot say enough good things about the restaurant. Without exaggeration, our dinner there was one of the best meals we have ever eaten! Chef Mathieu Métifet prepared a meal that was exciting, surprising, delicious and filling! We can't wait to come back!

Chloe and Matt the owners were incredible. We upgraded to a room with a sauna. Matt is an amazing Chef and should get a Michelin star. ⭐ the dinner was better than Michelin restaurants we dined at in Barcelona or Carcassonne The staff Delphine and Angeliq were fabulous. Great location for exploring on foot Les Eyzies

The property is lovely, beautifully maintained and in a perfect location. We were impressed by the high quality of the hotel’s restaurants - breakfasts and dinner were delicious, the service first rate and friendly. The overall gracious approach to running this hotel was evident every day of our stay and clearly defined by its commitment to provide a wonderful experience! We can’t recommend it enough!

Room was lovely. Location was excellent, Pool and surrounds were lovely. The staff were absolutely amazing. I also had a massage which was fantastic. I wanted a relaxation massage, I certainly got that, but also with sound healing bowls and real skill I found a lot of niggling soreness was completely gone after - I really recommend the massage therapist here - I think it was Cecile ( sorry if I have mistaken her name) she was special!

Nothing. The meal in the evening we felt was a bit pricey for what it was, but I understand the degustation in the restaurant is superb - we just were not up for it.

A beautiful hotel run by a very welcoming team who make you feel special from the moment you arrive. We were upgraded to a room with a private sauna. We ate dinner in the hotel which was a very gourmet affaire with lots of little extra courses. The locally produced wine with a family connection was lovely. All the staff were very friendly and professional and spoke very good English.

It would have been nice to have a little more choice for the food courses - there were only 2 choices per course, just taking that to 3 would help some of us a lot! They were very good accommodating my husband for his shellfish allergy, but I recommend advising them in advance as then they would have more time to check for an alternative.

Excellent location for visiting caves and walk into Les Ezyies. Run by the owners Breakfast lovely, yoghurt, muesli etc made on site and gorgeous Lovely swimming pool Air conditioning Staff service second to none

Would prefer a more ‘relaxed’ bistro as well as the expensive restaurant

Beautiful hotel in a great location with really friendly staff who can’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. Would not hesitate to return

Pool area needs the paving and pool bringing up to date as it’s a beautiful setting and just lets it down a little
