I was blown away by the service & hospitality provided by the staff. From the front desk staff, cleaners, and waitors. So friendly, you can tell they are well trained. I have to specifically mention Dwayne and Mrs Shaick (if I remember her name). Dwayne made us feel welcome from the first day and he constantly checked on us, same with the lady, she was readily available to resolve any issues like a pro. They could, however, take the evening chef to the same training, looks like he missed it - very arrogant. Food was nice, whatever one ordered from the menu was really nice.

The beds are so uncomfortable, we booked a family room and all the beds had thin sponges that drop all the way to the base of the bed, making it feel like you're sleeping directly on the hard base of the bed. Our neighbours also complained about the same issue. Breakfast was delicious, actually all their meals are nice. They could introduce some variation though with the buffet breakfast. Eating exactly the same thing for 4 days was starting to get to me.

Location is good, reception is 10/10.

The sponge/mattress is sagging badly, gave me a back pain. The whole hotel is old and needs refurbishment. The pool is slippery, especially on the deep end. Restaurant stuff is not attentive

Despite a bumpy start, the absolute commitment to customer service and hospitality from the Executive General Manager just won us over. It's the oldest hotel operating hotel in Livingstone and has a restaurant that serves all meals. The Breakfast service was par excellence and tue food was varied, hot and delicious! The evening staff tries to keep up but have some way to go. A noteworthy call out to Allan who did his best to rectify the niggles we faced during our stay and is an asset to the hotel. But once again the sheer investment in guest care shown by the EGM Subhashini is a gold standard for hospitality. She made our stay comfortable and memorable.

The evening meal service and the sound from the in house night club ..ear plugs are strongly recommended!

Hi . I chose this hotel because is located in the heart of Livingstone . We did not know much about it . We travel with our 3 years old daughter . So when they saw us on Reception they upgrade our room to a superior one ( of course is low season and they had availability ) . During our holiday all the staff , treat us with great respect and courtesy . All our demands were furfilled . Even when our flight was delayed we recived a discount for an extra night at the hotel . At the end I will say that Hotel bussines is about people not walls . And Fairmont Hotel exceeded our espectations .

Maybe the hotel is a bit old .

The breakfast buffet was awesome with a very wide variety of meats, sausages etc, but best of all we were able to order eggs hot and in our preferred style of omelettes and scrambled eggs from our personable and friendly Chef Peter. The restaurant staff were professional and very attentive without being intrusive, and even went above and beyond to secure favorite dishes and drinks for future meals even if they were not available at the times we returned from tours for “late lunch”. Our two-bedroom suite was spacious with luxurious beds, comfortable desks and chairs for working and each room had its own television, which was very convenient. The front desk, receptionists and guest-relations staff, and the hotel’s management personnel deserve their own special accolades for facilitating a smooth check-in, reaching out to me days prior to arrival while we were on vacation in South Africa and I was experiencing problems making phone calls into Zambia. Their attentiveness to details ensured that our overall experience exceeded expectations!

The timing in obtaining our first order for lunch, expectation for which, however, might have been influenced by the degree of famish being felt after a long day visiting the Victoria Falls at both the Zambia and Zimbabwe sides. Also, to be fair, we did arrive after closing of a lunch buffet that was earlier available. All was vindicated in the end by the the deliciousness of a meal of stewed chicken simmered to perfection in tasty spices, that was well worth the wait!

Excellent location. Very close to Restaurants, Shopping centres, Taxi stand. Helpful staff. They have upgraded our rooms. Those who wish to visit Victoria falls may find this property very convenient. Take a sharing taxi for a 20 minute journey to the falls for only 25 Kwacha which is 1.5$ per person. Tour companies charge 10$. Also bring rain coat for visiting falls.

Breakfast was expensive & we skipped it.

The hotel was in great location; it was very centrally located in town and felt very safe during the day and late at night. The hotel itself seemed a bit older, though the hotel facilities and grounds were very clean and taken care of/well maintained, and my room was modernized. All staff (the front desk staff — Allan and Mwiche, hotel administrative staff, the restaurant staff and restaurant manager, and housekeeper) were all very personable, attentive and accommodating. I feel like all of the staff really went the extra mile (this includes staff across the different hotel departments). The buffet breakfast selections were fair and dinner was good. The restaurant staff every morning was exceptionally attentive, helpful, and accommodating. The WiFi was good.

The WiFi was good but not great. And the television could have had more channels.

The hotel is centrally located, in walking distance to the downtown area. The staff was helpful an attentive, making me feel welcomed and appreciated. I have nothing negative to say about the facilities and the staff.

The only issues I experienced were related to time (though this could be because of cultural differences). Nothing bad came from this, though I did flag down a taxi when the hotel shuttle was late to bring me to the airport. So just make sure you have plenty of time, I was cutting it a bit too close.

Every one in the hotel is very nice and helpful. The reception Mwiche and the other lady are very professional and always ready to help. Front desk manager is the person to go to when you have problems. He will sort out for you straight away. He also organised our free shuttle to and from the airport We will recommend this hotel to anyone who comes to Livingstone.

The facility is a little bit old considering the historical building. But the friendly team made our stay enjoyable.

Location was excellent, pool was exceptionally clean, grounds we well maintained and lots of seating areas outside . The staff were exceptional. They always found time several times a day to talk to us and see if we had any problems which we didn't have. The mangers were very helpful and one manager even had a special surprise for us and our son. We have never been treated this well in any other place we have stayed. They genuinely care about all their guest. There was a restaurant on site and the food was very good. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone staying in the vicinity of Victoria Falls.
