Firstly the location was so central that all the key parts of the town were in walking distance. Apart from the great positive staff the place offered the use of kitchen where one could have hot water, coffee and also cook one’s food anytime except for breakfast time. The place was also on the pick up points list for tour operators which was very convenient. It was clean and well heated for the weather

Providing for a lift for elders would be a good option

The localization of the Hotel is perfect, at the corner of Plaza de Armas, central square of Punta Arenas, walking distance from the Strait of Magellan. The staff is kind and helped me a lot. Owing to early start of tours I was not able to enjoy full breakfast but always had someting to eat prepared even at 5 am. The rooms are pretty simple, but clean, bed comfy. Anyway I did not spend too much time in the hotel which served as base for tours.

There is no elevator so you have to carry your bag up a lot of stairs to reach the Reception thus the hotel is not suitable for persons with impaired mobility. It resulted that I stayed in 2 different rooms, in the first one there was no wardrobe, not even a peg in the wall. The other one was smaller, but there was a wardrobe.

The breakfast didn’t have eggs, so we purchased breakfast at a restaurant. The staff was super accommodating with a delivery order and with supplying utensils like forks and knives. The location was a good walking distance from other restaurants and coffee shops. The old-fashioned style of the building was charming.

The heat in the room was difficult to adjust and it was a bit too hot. The bell tower noise could have been disrupting for sleep. The bedsheets were a little course and rough. It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in the room for a stay longer than one night. It wasn’t clear where we could park. Some nearby streets seemed like they could have been dangerous at night.

I loved my stay at Hotel Plaza! The hotel and my room were very clean, it is in a great location, and the front desk staff was extremely helpful! I had an early flight out and the front desk was very kind and helped scheduled a taxi service for me for the morning of my departure. Some past reviews mentioned the hotel was outdated, but I didn’t find that to be the case. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the WiFi was excellent, and I didn’t see any carpeting (which I think was some of what past reviews mentioned).

Great location, very accommodating staff, clean and spacious rooms, good breakfast and overall great value for money and a very pleasant experience. With some small uplifts it could run for a 4th star 😉 We regreted not staying an extra night, it was that comfortable.

Nothing to dislike, with a small investment into refurbishment, this could be a 4* hotel. Had to keep myself reminding it wasn't, my professional handicap working in the same industry 😉

The Hotel Plaza's location is excellent, close to beautiful gardens, historic buildings and restaurants. I enjoyed the old world decor with plenty of varnished woodwork. The room was clean and well appointed with a modern bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The standout attraction was the excellent breakfast served by friendly staff in the beautiful, spacious and light filled dining room.

The WIFI reception should be improved to provide acceptable performance in ALL rooms. This should be an easy fix.

We needed to check out at 6am to make our penguin island tour at 6:15 and informed the staff the day before but when we arrived at the front desk there was no one present, nor had they packed our breakfast which was promised

Stayed for 1 night- Location is great , middle of the city. The staff was friendly and helpful; they let me to leave my luggage as I came early morning. For Punta Arenas I recommend 2 Night stay 1 evening – arriva, , 2 day visit the Penguins and at the afternoon enjoy the city.

Room stuff a little bit old, need renovation, but usefull. Noises from the neighbors

Super location, everything is clean, bog bathroom and big room. Staff is helpfull with your lagguage for the stairs.

It is not fault of hotel, but as old building the floor is noisy and the other guests are very loudly if they are going from/to hotel in moorning hours. Maybe some carpet will help to reduce the noise.
