We had supper in your restaurant and the server tried to over charge us. When I checked the bill, he had overcharged on the two drinks. He apologised and said that the prices were going up, but were not registered on the menu yet (Oh yah!) and he immediately gave us $2 back, so he knew that he had done it. Advice- check your bill if you eat in the restaurant. We had breakfast at the golf course and it was good. The food was OK.

See above regarding the overcharge in the restaurant. I looked at the price of the hotel using Trivago and got 4 choices all about the same price of $178. I chose Hotel Booking. I filled in my credit card information then clicked next to fill in my personal information, and suddenly noticed that the price had jumped to $270 with $80 of "fees and taxes". I immediately tried to cancel the booking and thought that I had and booked with another agency (Booking.com). My "Hotels" booking had gone through and I called them and they would not reverse it. I explained to the hotel what had happened but they said that they could not do anything about it. However, they did give me a voucher for a free night in the hotel.

After travelling around the Province, staying at several other places, Elkwater Lodge was our favorite. The loft bed was perfect, as was the sofa bed. There was a lot of space for our bags and left so much more room to live in. The air conditioner and heater responded instantly when turned on, allowing us to be comfortable day and night. We wanted somewhere quiet to retreat to and this lodge provided that in solid comfort. We originally booked 2 nights but added another 2 after staying the first night. Wonderful staff as well, clearly having fun while doing their work, which was a joy to watch.

We arrived at about 6 pm and there was no where in the area where we could buy a bottle of wine, or any liquor at that time of day. Highly suggest you bring your own as even when they are open, the selection is very limited and you pay off sale prices.

The lodge itself is beautiful and in a lovely setting. Staff are great and the food at Buglers was excellent. It can take a while for your meal to be ready if it's busy during the off season but be patient as the cook really knows what he's doing.

There are few things that need updating. The vending machine still only takes actual cash. There is no credit or Interac and during the off season when the local stores have limited hours, it can be tough to get any softdrinks. The wifi was okay but I still ended up using my cellular connection as it was not what I'm used to.

The loft apartment is very cute and modern. Had everything we needed for cooking utensils, pots/pans, etc. Room was clean and the beds were comfy.

Dishwasher didn’t work properly. Pool area is dated and needs work. The hot tub was draining and spraying water everywhere the second night. Shortage of pool towels on the second night.

The room was large enough to accommodate the four of us and the property was well located within the park.

We were expecting to have the room done daily with fresh towels given amount we paid for the room. We received fresh towels on our third and last night. Arrived at the resort and they did not have our reservation.

We enjoyed the space our room gave us. It was clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed for our mini retreat. It was great having the restaurant on site. It was a perfect location for the touring we did in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful.

There was nothing we did not like.

Good location in the Town of Elkwater. Comfortable room. Easy walk to the beach.

Restaurant was not open on Monday, contrary to the sign on the door. Had to drive out to the Elkwater Park Golf Club to get a full breakfast before we continued on our trip.

close to home but away from home and gave an “in the mountains” kind of atmosphere

low business weekend with perhaps 3 rooms in use and yet two of us were side by side - more surprising than problem. also, be aware there are NO dishes unless you have the room with a dishwasher, even with a microwave and fridge. staff did help us out here.

Comfy bed

Not much available around as restaurant, gas station all seem to keep minimal hours. I left the hotel at 7:30am and no key drop off etc so went back to room to drop . All in all a nice hotel though and I’d stay there again.

No breakfast, but a very good location

more chairs in the room. Advertises a kitchenette but has no cutlery or dishes. A table with one chair, and one easy chair in the room.
