The Lydoun was a clean comfortable, fairly basic, overnight stop on our Australia road trip. Friendly welcoming management. Fair price. Appreciated the kettle, fridge, toaster, microwave and plates and cutlery. Chiltern is a cute little town. We left our charger in the wall and were able to pick it up on our return from Melbourne. Excellent communication with management.

Lighting is awkwardly placed and unhelpful especially if you are sitting in bed trying to read or watch TV.

Very clean and comfortable accommodation on the edge of town.

My only complaint would be being so close to the railway line. Up until about midnight freight trains and Vline trains were passing through making it very noisy. After then, it seemed to quieten down. Annoying, but I guess you can't move the railway line!

Great little place to stay. Staff were amazing allowing for an early check-in as we were attending a wedding in the local area. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. Towels were good quality, which is often something overlooked, but not at Lydoun.

The staff were friendly and the room was incredibly clean.

The only negative I could possibly mention is the sound of the train going passed that woke us up but this is beyond the Motels control.

Location is great - a short walk to the centre of Chiltern, which is a very well preserved historical town and surprisingly lively for such a small place. Swimming pool was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room had everything I needed and was very spacious for a budget motel room.

A very minor detail - the room had two air conditioners. It took me a while to work out that the one that I could see was not operational, but that there was another one that worked.

Spacious room, with a good-sized shower room. Very clean accommodation. Upon entering the room, it smelt clean, which is a good sign. Overall, it is good value for money. We will certainly stay again. We will recommend others to stay here too.

Need to remove recessed lighting in rooms. The lighting is very poor. Perhaps place flush fitted downrights for adequate lighting for occupants. Close to railway track, recommend ear plugs for light sleepers.

Great size room and bathroom. Good kitchenette. Fluffy facewashers. Only a 10 minute walk into town. Good access off the Hume Highway.

Dated decor. Heard the trains going at night, but it didn't really bother us. Strip lighting above the bed was annoying, when one person wants to read and the other person wants to sleep.

The Lydoun Motel was fantastic. The owner and his family were lovely. The room was large and very clean. It had everything you could need. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was very modern. The pool was also very clean and welcoming in the heat.

Excellent for a stopover between Melb and Sydney Less than a minute off the highway and the place was super clean with a clean modern bathroom . Pity we didn’t get a chance to use the pool as that looked lovely as well

One of the cleanest places I've ever stayed in! The team are friendly and accommodating, amenities are modern but still welcoming. The motel itself is well situated, and acted as a great place to stay while we explored the surrounding area.

Mattresses were uncomfortable & firm, but that's it.
