The breakfast was very good with a great variety of fruit. The room spacious: old wooden floor and window frames and good coffee and tea appliances and selection. Very quiet, opening to the inner court. I would definitely recommend the hotel for both the location and comfort. The way to the room was a bit tricky: you take one staircase to a veranda and then another one to the second floor.

The house and decorations are very vintage and beautiful, and the atmosphere was good, also the staff were very enthusiastic.
The heating system seems to be temporarily closed at night, therefore we felt a little cold when we went to bed

Very spacious room with a lovely time warp feeling. Private parking in rear yard for €15/day which was a fair price considering central location.
Nothing.

The location is excellent. Most of the sights and museums are walking distance. Weimar has lots to offer, it is really a gem. History, art, culture, all that. We even bumped into a live music offering pub which had an excellent show and drinks. The hotel had always been a hotel (or an inn) since the middle ages, so it has a nice atmosphere and character. If you are crazy for those all framework houses, this is the place to go. Also, I could park my car in the private yard, which is nice because it is not easy to find a slot in the middle of the town. However I had to pay 15 EUR a day, which was not nice. I expected this to be free. The breakfast was yummy and the serving guy was a nice. (Didn't speak English, though.) The bathroom was small but it had everything one needs on a vacation. Everything was superclean, just as expected.
When we arrived it turned out that the booking system is misleading. I booked for 4 people (2 double rooms) but in their application they had 2 people in 2 rooms. Most probably this was not my error or their error, it was an application error, perhaps on the booking.com site. (Which would be weird because I had booked here 30+ times already and never had such an issue.) Anyway, there was a problem to be sorted out, and I would have expected them to make us at least sit down, check in, be comfortable and so on after a very long travel. (We had friends with us from the California who had jet lag and all that.) These issues could be sorted out afterwards. Anyway, I asked this and was given the rooms, so all was well after all, but the staff had no means or will to decide things on their own. I guess they called the owner or something to sort this out. (We did not have to pay more after all, which is super nice, but I was nervous for 3 days.) Also, only one guy of the staff speaks some English, so it was difficult for me to communicate. This is a general problem in Germany, and to my astonishment, the younger the staff, the more likely it is that they don't speak English. I do not expect foreign language skills in another industry, but tourism??? That is indeed strange. (I do speak some German myself, and I am trying hard, but the expectations from guests are weird.) Two improvable things for the staff to know: the coffee cups should be coffee cups not soup bowls or tea cups. I am a serious coffee drinker, and very grumpy in the morning before my first coffee, and so this should be a mug or a cup designed for coffee, that keeps it warm even if one adds milk. The other thing is the mattrass, which had a hole in the middle, I kept sliding down all night and could barely sleep. This probably added to my grumpiness.
