Excellent room, great bed, top quality amenities

I have a title for my thoughts on this hotel. It was like a 4 star hotel j n a Ghost town. it had NO Staff, I like a hotel with staff. We got in with a code and there were no problems. I thiought it was overpriced considering the downtown which is where the hotel is is a ghost town. I would say 90% of the businesses are boarded up. The area is beautiful and it looks like the town was once really charming. But not anymore. ZFor that reason I thought the hotel was over priced. There were a few nice places open, a charming bakery a hardwhere store a Fkly fishing store and two restauraunts.

Very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the fireplace in room #7. We liked it so much we added a second night and drove down to Lake Shasta Caverns for the tour today. Lovely outdoor space in the backyard as well. It has a European feel to it which we enjoyed. The staff was very responsive by text when we added the extra night. Had a good burger at Yaks too!!

It seemed a bit pricey for the sleepy little town of Dunsmuir but otherwise no complaints.

No awkward conversation at check-in because everything was arranged beforehand, and I love it! Whatever you need, coffee, ice, magazines, books, USB cables, is already provided. And the room.. AMAZING and most importantly, sparkling clean! They really paid attention to details. There are actually 3 types of charging cable next to your bed, USB-C, USB, and iPhone. And they know you like to do bubble baths. So they cleaned the hot tub so well it sparkled. And their body wash and shampoos were just hanging on the wall in such a way that you can just press it into the tub to get the bubbles started.

I wish I could do the third night :(

It was very comfortable and spacious. The hotel is decorated beautifully. Entry and exit was a snap. Probably I will return one of these days.

Communication with the owners could have been better. I sent two messages asking about a late checkout, once when I first made the reservation, and the next a day before my start date, and they never responded.

Location is great - right in downtown Dunsmuir. One block from our favorite restaurant. Nicely restored older building. Rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable.

Apparently there is no staff on site. All communication was via text. Mostly that is okay with me, but I wonder about what would happen if there was an emergency (e.g. fire in the hotel). Not a huge deal, but a bit disappointing. It’s nice to have staff to answer questions if one is not familiar with a place, needs a restaurant recommendation, to provide direction in an emergency, etc.

The Mossbrae Hotel is like going back in time but with all the modern conveniences.It truly is a fantastic place to stay if you like quite and a small town atmosphere. We had 2 rooms and both were very clean and comfortable. Thank you Mossbrae Hotel for making our stay in Dunsmuir, CA a real pleasure!

There's nothing to not like about the Mossbrae Hotel.

Perfect hotel, renovated only recently. Amazingly well equipped and tastefully decorated room with its own kitchenette, fantastic bathroom with all sorts of toiletries, infinite selection of TV channels and streaming services, etc. Wonderful bed and bedding, super quiet... We had the small 'queen bed' room. In a nutshell - as a 4 star hotel should be. And very reasonable price for a establishment of this category.

Parking is not included but don't let that bother you because it's located in a small town, and there's plenty of parking in the street in front of the hotel. You just need to move the car away on a weekday.

No ice machine, don’t know if I’m a fan of no contact hotel, we were not familiar with the area and it would have been nice to be able to talk to someone. Also, only street parking -which we were aware of when booking -but it’s a 3 hr limit during the day😳

Easy to find, roomed were absolutely beautiful and didn’t feel like a hotel. The bed was the best hotel bed we have ever slept on!

A bit disappointing that no one was on the property. Our water in the shower was cold- never got warm. A bit of a wait to get into our room- and coffee drip didn’t have a filter so unable to use.

Location is good in the middle of business districts , right next to the fly fishing shop. Self check-in went smoothly. Room amenities luxurious and very clean.

Somewhat disappointed by the current state of Dunsmuir, which is mostly empty buildings.
