Location is excellent because I used to go to school one block away from the hotel. The room is not too roomy but since I traveled alone so it is not a problem for me. The room is clean and comfortable. The toilet is also clean and the water pressure is strong. The staff is friendly and the check in/check out process is quick. I particularly like the history and the interior design of the hotel.

The location is pretty good. You're a short distance away from Prince Edward and Mong Kok East Stations if you need to head out towards different parts of the city. Airport bus stops are at most 15 minutes walking away, south west of the property. And if you want to experience the grittyness, the hustle and bustle that Kowloon has to offer, that's just a stone's throw away, with Fa Yuen Street Market just around the corner, connecting to the other street markets in the area. Rooms were decently sized and clean. Showers had good water pressure, giving us the means to clean ourselves up after long days out in hot and humid Hong Kong. Beds were comfortable. The fridge works and keeps water cool for drinking, but you should either boil your water from the bathroom tap (there's a kettle in the room) or buy bottled water from one of the supermarkets nearby. The property itself has an art deco theme and carries through quite nicely.

We were able to, on occasion, hear conversations and noise from neighbouring rooms through the walls, so some better soundproofing would be nice. There's technically only one elevator for the hotel (there are two, but we tried using the other one and could not quite access the ground floor), which is the one that you use when you enter the property from the street. If it goes out (it happened once out of the blue, but thankfully we weren't on it), then the other elevator is what you'd need to take, which connects to the adjoining restaurant. Depending on time of day, I can see this being a bottleneck for heading out for the day.

I liked the location as it was very near the Prince Edward MTR station and also lots of walkable restaurants and a mini grocery store is right beside the hotel. Lobby has an art deco style, room is spacious enough for 2 people and 2 tiny suitcases, room is cleaned everyday and can provide bottled waters if you call, but you do notice some minimal stains on the carpet or even on the bed linen but barely noticeable if you don’t look for it.

The hotel requires a 500HKD deposit and since i didnt want to be left with that much cash when I leave, I told the staff to hold it in my credit card and then just waive after check out. A week after check out, the balance still hasnt been waived and when I messaged the hotel, they said that processing time takes 1 month which is too long (as the typical reverse time in credit cards take only 3 days, max 1 week). So I’m still waiting for the deposit to be reversed while I’m writing this.

Modern and clean hotel, in a great location. Not far from the trains or buses. Very helpful staff. Room was a fantastic size for one person, and serviced everyday. Room was extremely clean and well appointed. As a female travelling alone I felt very, very safe. Downstairs they had a small supermarket for general items and a larger one just around the corner. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was quiet and no smells or anything dodgy going on during my stay.

There was nothing to improve on, I had a fantastic stay.

The hotel was clean, spacious enough, and the staff were nice, friendly and helpful. I love how the hotel was also at the center of Mongkok so it was near everything in that area! plus its only minutes away from the train station.

The room looked bigger in the photos, so i was pretty disappointed to see it to be smaller than I thought. Also, the bathroom and the towels were not so clean, so we had to request for a new set of towels and for the house keeping to re-clean the bathroom

The location- very accessible. Near Prince Edward MTR, bus stop outside hotel. A lot of foods to eat and shops in the area. Cleanliness- the hotel is clean and the room is cleaned daily. The hotel room is not that small for a hotel in hongkong. Staff- they are easy to communicate, they can speak english and they are polite and accommodating. Value for money. We will definitely come back again.

Nothing much to complain. - just when we requested basic stuff since we are celebrating my daughter’s bday, They cannot lend us small plates, lighter (for lighting the cake) though just minimal, we just went outside to buy.

Hotel 1936 is located in the middle of Mongkok which is very convenient as the area is well connected by public transit (buses, MTR, and taxis). This is one of the newer hotels in Hong Kong and the room is more spacious and comfy than other hotels we've previously stayed in the city area like Tsim Sha Tsui and the price was very reasonable. Hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful. Although the stay at the hotel did not include any meal plan, it's surrounded by cafes and restaurants so there's never a concern of not finding a place to fill your stomach. We will definitely stay at Hotel 1936 again next time when we visit HK.

First of all, I would like to thank the staff for the warm hospitality, which is now very rare in HK. They are friendly and helpful. Exceptional service. They helped booked an Uber, and waited with me along the streets to ensure that I have boarded the right vehicle safely. Hotel very well located. Just a stone throw away from Prince Edward MTR. Right above the “night” market where the shopping begins but you will hear no noise. Quite and peaceful. Well equipped. Nothing lacking.

A little pricey. And probably only one lift that brings you to ground floor. Lift is really fast though so not a major concern bring my 4 nights stay.

Location was great - plenty of markets right downstairs and MTR stations MK, MK East and Prince Edward very close to get around HK. Staff were very helpful and 24 hour reception service meant it was easy to check in and out. They also helped arrange a taxi for us for 4am when we had to leave and held our luggage when we took some time to travel out of HK. Views from the room were lovely.

Rooms are fairly small, a bit tight for 2 people sharing but we didn't spend much time in the room throughout the day anyway. Cleaners could have done better to be honest, there were days where our mugs/spoons & coffee facilities weren't changed or refilled.
