I was very happy with Evanndor and my “Captain suite” on the ground floor. It is an older, 2 storey brick home converted to house 4 self contained suites. The building, on a residential street and only a few blocks from the centre of Stratford, is well maintained and the Captain suite appears recently renovated and was very comfortable. (It is essentially a nice hotel room with a kitchenette.) The bed was excellent, shower very good, AC quiet and effective and easy to control. Kitchenette had microwave, sink, mini-fridge, pod coffee maker, kettle, and a full complement of plates, cutlery and glassware. TV with Netflix. I did not meet the hosts, but Martin was very responsive over email regarding any questions. He offered to meet me for check-in, or do self check-in. The building was quiet, and I only occasionally heard other guests coming or going. I would definitely stay there again.

Captain’s room was on ground floor so no stairs needed, and was immaculate, with subtle nautical decor. No pets/smoking/carpets so great for my allergies, and walk in shower for my mobility challenged husband. Nice and quiet! Martin was super helpful with accommodating our check in and check out times to suit our bus schedule, and provided nice treats to welcome us. No breakfast but is just around the corner from Brch & Wyn which is lovely.

Our only concern with the property was that it appeared on the map to be closer to the theatre area than it turned out to be. We had stayed at the Bradshaw Lofts for several trips but my husband doesn’t walk as well now, so had looked for something closer in. It turned out to be just a little farther away than the lofts!

The location was good. It was clean, tidy, and comfortable. The kitchen, courtyard, and sitting areas were wonderful perks. Not a detail was missed in meeting our needs. The decor was modern but blended in well with the 1800s features and architecture of the building. The gardens were lovely. We like a coffee machine, kettle, fridge and microwave when we travel so those were appreciated. There were sturdy bars near the toilet and in the shower. The full-length mirror was a nice touch. The lock code meant not having to keep track of a key. There was a host on site if we needed assistance, but we didn't. We were very impressed!

I wouldn't say there was anything we didn't like but 2 small things I would change to my preference: I always have trouble adjusting to a different bed from my own, so I admit I'm fussy, and I found it soft, but my husband found it quite comfortable. Also, I would have enjoyed a handheld shower nozzle, but the fixed one was fine.

The owner Martin, greeted us when we arrived and offered to carry our luggage up the stairs. He thoughtfully showed us how everything worked and he showed us 6 frosty bottle of water for our use in the fridge, plus a complimentary bottle of Pinot Grigio for our use. With doors locked using a combination there is no need for keys - and we could just come and go when we needed to. it was very quiet and we even had a balcony. We will return - thank you so much Martin. We did get in lots of extra steps but we love to walk so that was all good. xo

Wish the location was closer to the downtown core but we love to walk so that was OK.

The Watercolour suite is exquisitely renovated and I appreciated all the thoughtful little amenities, from the breakfast basket with fresh bananas to the umbrellas, games, and books to share with the other dwellers. Blankets and towels were very comfortable. I also loved learning about the history of the place.

The connecting door to the secondary room is a bit oddly placed and would have been frequently in the way had I been sharing the suite with another person. If it were hung so that it opens into the secondary room, I think that would make things less chaotic. Or, the furniture in the bedroom might be arranged differently to make space for more passage between rooms. Because of this, I’m not sure I’d recommend the suite for two travellers staying more than 1 night, but for just me it was fine.

Martin and the team at Evanndor (including their Scottish Terrier!) were the consummate hosts. There was such thoughtfulness and care at every turn (fruit, snacks, tea, coffee and milk in fridge, bottle of wine, basic stocked kitchen etc.) It's rare to feel hospitality these days, but we felt it in spades in this lovely place. Walking distance to all the theatres, restaurants downtown and waterfront. Courtyard and garden suite was an added bonus!

It's more a preference than not liking, but blackout curtains in bedroom would be helpful as I need a dark room.

We attended three Stratford plays this weekend and were grateful to have place to stay where we could simply fall into bed without too much thought! Evanndor offers very well equipped efficiency units that are handy to downtown (5 blocks) and any Statford sights. Coffee, complimentary wine, enough cushy towels to wrap far more than our party of two and the shower was a safe and well appointed dream! Excellent Parking was a bonus.

We are "older" Canadians - stairs are very difficult at the end if a busy day. Next time we book, we will ask for their ground floor unit. The bed while very cushy with lots of layers to burow into, is a but high for those of us who are a "vertically challenged" who might have some difficulty climbing up and in!.

This a story property has a great location and has been renovated down to the last detail. Super comfortable, and a room with a balcony that’s just fantastic. The complementary bottle of wine and treats provided were especially nice and Martin was so wonderful to come out right away and help us with our bags. They don’t have the space to do a breakfast, but there is a great little restaurant about five minutes walk. This is a great value and we would completely stay here again.

Nothing it was perfect for what we needed for our two nights in Stratford.

Martin personally welcomed us and gave us all the information we needed for a wonderful stay. Evanndor is perfectly situated for walking to Main Street and all the theatres. Our suite on the second floor was comfortable and quiet (sound proofing is very good). We enjoyed having a balcony and a little kitchen. The complimentary wine, coffee, water, fruit and granola bars were very much appreciated. We would definitely stay at Evanndor again!

We truly enjoyed our stay in the courtyard room. The room was beautifully updated with full kitchen amenities including full fridge, oven and stove to nicely accommodate all vacation dining preferences. The bed was awesome and provided a great night's sleep. The hosts were very welcoming and made our stay all the more pleasant after we were entertained by wonderful musicals. Easy walk to downtown. Would highly recommend the courtyard room during your stay in Stratford.
