The atmosphere of this hotel is very charming. Excellent location, decent breakfast with good desert selection. Our room was spacious and clean. Comfortable beds. Spacious bathroom. Very nice staff (except one example in "what didn't you like? section...) Fancy bar with delicious drinks (gin Astoria!). Farewell gift (cookies) is a nice idea.

We arrived one hour before the check-in time and while it is OK to wait for the room to be ready, the way it was communicated to us was so rude that it was not a good start at all. Shame on the guy at the reception. There is only one lift in the hotel and unfortunately it is occupied by the staff for cleaning and catering which happens at the same time as the peak hours of breakfast, so the waiting time can be long. The windows in the room are not functional and generally need major repair. Can someone teach the cooks how good fried eggs should look like?

Nicely renovated Epoque building with lots of original elements, beautiful stained glass, high ceilings in communal areas and friendly staff. Rooms where clean and room at the back was quiet. Noise insulation is good. Nice Rebul toiletries. Breakfast was lovely. The outside terrace is pleasant to have a drink.

The hotel is not suitable for wheelchairs. When selecting this criterium, it’s still in the list at Booking. Because of the original doors and layout, not adapted to accommodate wheelchairs. We explicitely asked, and paid extra for a 25m2 room with wide enough entrances and doors but could not even get into the room. Entrance to the hotel is through the basement and we had to find our own way to get to the elevator. We managed and our stay was pleasant enough. Airconditioning would be a bonus. Room was very warm. Carpets not great.

The hotel is very well maintained, the common areas are really nice and the personnel is very helpful and kind. We had a spacious room but it was a bit simple. The breakfast was great. All in all we had a very nice stay in De Haan, the hotel is very well located a walk away from the beach, shops and restaurants. I highly recommend :)

We could hear a bit our upstairs neighbour who walked a bit abruptly during the night. The room has high ceillings so there's not much you can do but it was ok we could sleep well overall.

The staff were brilliant, so helpful and pleasant and nothing was to much trouble for them. Freya at Reception was a star, always greeted us with a smile and provided excellent recommendations and advice. The barman was very good, engaging with clients, laughing and chatting, making customers feel relaxed and comfortable. From check in to check out it was a marvellous stay. The location was excellent, so much around, restaurants, the park, the beach and the tram station. We will be going back.

Beautiful historical building. Specious, clean & comfortable rooms & bathrooms. Breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of choice. Friendly, helpful staff also to the small child with us, Good location in a beautiful area between beach and town. Parking nearby. Etc.

Only small negative : full surface carpet in rooms and staircases; but maybe necessary in this old historical building for sound insulaton.

Lovely hotel and bedrooms Exceptionally clean. Fantastic breakfast. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Bottles of water provided every day of stay. Great location- between the sea and the tram.

My only criticism is that the rooms should have a fridge. They are certainly big enough to accommodate one. A previous response mentioned a communal fridge available for guests but that wouldn’t be convenient for us. A minor criticism but much cheaper hotels manage to provide in room fridges.

Good size room, comfortable bed, good bathroom hotel only a few minutes walk to the beach and good restaurants. Excellent breakfast, spoilt for choice of meats, salmon, cheese, fruit, breads and option to have good eggs and bacon.

Only drawback there is no car park, but is was easy to find somewhere on the street relatively close. Although breakfast was excellent it was expensive. Perhaps a fridge in the rooms would be good to keep the free water cold.

In the heart of De Haan, with very clean and practical, spatious rooms, interesting interior and superb bar, this hotel is a safe bet for a troublefree stay. The staff is very nice, breakfast very good. Try the home-made gin in Coq'eau Bar... A lot of bars (we liked to sit in Roger!) and restaurants around, and you can ask for reservation at the reception. A tram stop is nearby, and the sea just a short walk away.

A fridge in the room wold be nice.

The whole hotel was not air-conditioned, which is something to be expected from a 4-star establishment, especially during the very hot summer months in a room underneath the floor. The shower head also seemed very dated, which meant the water was not flowing properly.

We enjoyed every minute of our visit. Staying in historical building, very nice and helpful staff, comfortable room, delicious breakfast with wide variety of choices and convenient location in the centre of de Haan. Worth visiting!!

Sometimes the bar/coffee place is little bit crowded and then there is no space for hotel guests. No spa/wellness area.
