Ruco is absolutely incredible—it truly felt like home during my stay in Hagi. The design of the space is stunning, blending simplicity and warmth perfectly. The facilities are top-notch, with an amazing kitchen that’s a joy to use and beautiful windows that fill the place with light. The staff were wonderful, so kind and welcoming, making the experience even more special. I fell in love with Hagi, and Ruco played a big part in that. I can’t recommend it enough—this place is a gem!

While Ruco is a lovely place overall, the internet connection was a big drawback. It was very unstable and failed frequently, which was frustrating, especially since many other guests seemed to have the same issue. Hopefully, this can be improved in the future.

The guesthouse is exceptionally stylish, just like a designer boutique without paying top money. The location is very central. We came with a car and there was a free parking lot. We had a very comfortable stay in this accommodation. Oh! They have a gluten free cake slice which is made with rice flour. That was a surprise! Very yummy too!

The breakfast was a little disappointing. Everything was just bought in a convenient store. We expected something homemade or special to match with other aspects provided in this guesthouse.

The price was definitely the draw but I was incredibly impressed with the design and aesthetic details of this guesthouse. The vibe is super casual and considerate and Yuki, the guy who was tending it when I was there, was really warm and helpful. I stayed in a private room with shared bathroom and everything was very clean.

The futon was a bit thin- could have used a double.

Located near the bus terminal, luggage can be stored near the bus terminal or the nearby gako/school museum if you arrive early like i did. Host is friendly and gave me multiple local pointers like restaurants. Bed is clean and comfortable , the rooms are also well insulated and warm. This guesthouse offers everything a traveler would need. There are also multiple eateries and convenience stores within walking distance and local attractions can be reached by foot. Note to travelers: hagi loop busses do not show up on google map.

No lockers/ your luggage cupboard do not have locks

Cosy tatami room in a guesthouse in Hagi. It is around 2 minutes' walk to the central bus station with restaurants, bakeries and sights all easily accessible by foot or local bus. The breakfast is excellent and the staff are really hospitable and provide great recommendations.

Very beautiful guesthouse with interesting interior and relaxing atmosphere. The people working there are very kind and hospitable. Great kitchen for cooking, comfortable beds and dormitory, calm, yet central location to discover Hagi. One of the best guesthouses we’ve ever stayed in, thanks a lot :)

Nothing to dislike

Lovely owners/staff running the place, ready to help and busy keeping the place clean and neat. The hostel and cafe are well designed and have a nice ambiance. Location is good, near the bus station and amenities.

The beds are a bit rickety and creak with the slightest movement.

Nice charm to the place. Very inviting. Good friendly staff. Nice little cafe. It's not a fancy place. So people expecting full service type place will be disappointed, but if you going for simple accomodations with great charm, this is the place.

Such a great stay at Ruco! The staff greeted us with a smile and helped us with restaurant recommendations. The family room was very spacious for 2 people and 2 large suitcases. The general amenity was great and the shower pressure was even better!

Just note the rooms are up at least two flights of small stairs if you have large suitcases

Good location and very helpful staff that gave us noce recommendations for dinner. Beds with sufficient privacy and clean. the cafe is nice and chill. It had all the necessary amenities and very nice decoration.
