Upon arriving Marybeth greeted us with such enthusiam. The property has been part of her family for a long time and is steeped in local history. You will see photograhs and paintings of generations of her family and Marybeth explains how all of this came to be. The property is located in a quaint part of Nachez a short walk (50 paces) from the banks of the Mississippi and couldn't feel safer (we've just spend a few days in Memphis - a polar opposite to Nachez in every way). We strolled along the water front and ate the most fantastic food at the Magnolia Grill which came highly recommended. Local people are incredibly friendly and restored our faith in the south. We stopped in at the Corner bar for a nice refreshing beer before retiring to our lovely room. The room was comfortable, the property was spotless and breakfast and chatting with other guests was a great way to prepare to travel further south into the chaos of New Orleans. This was a perfect respite for our trip down the trace parkway - we only wish we had spent a little more time in this fantastic place. Marybeth - you are so lucky we didnt steal little Stinkpot - your dog is a cutie.

The short duration of our stay - however - we can't blame Marybeth for that. If we are down this way again - we can rectify that situation. If you've come via Memphis spend AT LEAST 1 day here to restore your faith in humanity.

Charming property in a convenient location for walking into town. Our host Marybeth was tremendously kind and helpful. We were free to use the kitchen, lounge and dining rooms of the throughout the day and evening.

Our room at the back of the house had quite a small window and seemed rather dark, but was otherwise comfortable.

We arrived at the beautiful historic B&B. We met Marybeth. She made us feel at home. And she explained everything to us. Gave us tips for restaurants and things to do. She also provided us with a map. We were the only ones staying that night. The neighborhood was very safe. We walked to a restaurant "under the hill". Location and food were very good.

Marybeth is an exceptional host. Even as soon as we arrived we were treated like family. We checked in on a Sunday and the previous days there was a hot balloon festival. With that said, everyone seemingly had already left resulting with us being the only ones in the house. Our host opened her home to us and as she was leaving said "treat the place like it was your grandmother's". We look forward to a return visit.

The Riverboat was in a perfect location. We stayed on the top floor and the host was wonderful.

Light shone through the thin curtain early in the morning. The breakfast was not that great. Great butter choices, but not hot. Bacon was microwaved and pancakes thin and rubbery. The meal was served well, though.

It’s a lovely historic building with a lot of family history. Rooms were a great size with very comfortable beds. The location is excellent within the charming town of Natchez. MaryBeth was a wonderful host and we particularly enjoyed the freshly baked muffins at breakfast!

Beautiful historic home with a great family feel. Very comfortable bed and room. Even though another couple was there, it was very quiet and private. Lovely place.

It was a little warm at night in the room, but we could still sleep great.

Location was great and MaryBeth was as the best hostess ever. Her knowledge of the area and suggestions for sightseeing, restaurants and shopping was invaluable. She even carried our suitcases upstairs and her breakfast was absolutely delicious!

The stairs were a little steep for older people. Also the parking area would have been too far to carry our bags, if our hostess, MaryBeth, hadn’t carried them for us.

The family house is lovely , just like Marybeth. There’s a lot you can do around the house which is located near the Mississippi. Breakfast is served by Marybeth in the dining room, which is the occasion to meet the other guests.

Wonderful historic house in a great location. Has been in the same family for over a hundred years. Hostess takes time to help you plan your trip to Natchez and makes a great breakfast using local food (some from her garden).

Some road noise, but stops around 10 PM
