A pleasant stay. Loved the merging of traditional with contemporary architecture. The hotel is filled with pieces from the owner's quirky art collection which we found interesting but perhaps lacking unity as a whole. Still, the public areas are charming and inviting, our favorites being the bar and the terrace. The rooms are comfortable and the spa facilities outstanding. The staff is warm and their service is impeccable. We loved the feeling of being away from the city and closer to nature. It was a relaxing trip. A stroll through Cycling Through the Water bridge was well worth the 30 min drive. As was our visit to the Terrill's Resort where you can hike or bike on a bridge on the lake. We also enjoyed the town of Masseik, where Jan Van Eyck is said to have been born.

Beautifully designed and maintained hotel with great facilities. The beds were nice and the room very sound proof. The park surrounding the hotel is lovely for walks. We enjoyed the free coffee and water.

Some things were too expensive - €25 for a pilates session and €45 for breakfast. The hotel is on lots of different levels and is not very accessible for those in wheelchairs.

It wasn’t clearly stated that the room was in a separate building, not in the main villa. Because of this, the experience isn’t 100% comfortable for anything you need, whether it’s having breakfast, going to the spa, or simply dining, you have to cross the road and walk a few minutes to reach the main building.

The hotel was just fantastic, beautiful room, super comfortable bed, a TV in the bathroom is just fantastic they have a good and healthy breakfast was superbe. The service is top, in the restaurant and reception. Very nice spa,indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi outside,is just the best,you can enjoy even when its raining outside. I recommend this hotel..Will sure come back..

We had a fantastic experience at La Butte aux Bois. We often stay at luxury hotels and occasionally find them disappointing when they don’t meet expectations, but that was not the case here. Everything was exceptional—wonderful staff, excellent rooms, top-notch facilities, and a great atmosphere.

Beautifully decorated and luxurious hotel. The staff were great and the room was spacious. The hotel is nicely located on a park so it’s great to have a long walk before the using the spa and then dinner.

The bathroom had a glass dividing wall and the glass door didn’t even stay closed (so it’s not ideal for people who don’t know each other well!) The bistro was pleasant but expensive for what we had. We ordered 2 espressos and were charged €19.

Our al la carte meal did not meet expectations. My pasta was cold and undercooked (even by al dente standards). My wife’s tuna salad was poorly dressed, and looked like it was designed for presentation rather than taste.

We had a superb stay in the hotel, which is located in very quiet surroundings. The hotel, lobby, restaurant and rooms are beautifully decorated and offer a relaxing atmosphere. I particularly loved the plants and glass roof in the restaurant, giving it a bit the feeling of a rainforest refuge. The rooms are very spacious.

Overall it is quite expensive.

Very nice and chic hotel, we got upgraded to a larger room and had a nice Check-in. The hotel is very beautiful decorated and the staff is very friendly. Everything was super clean and the beds are like little clouds. Spa is equipt with everything you wish for. Breakfast and bar are superb.
