Superbly located, our room looked across the lake and to the chateau. Dining outside was comfortable, relaxed and the food excellent. We don't usually have breakfast in the hotel but here, it was a real treat and great value for money. Everything to do with Pierrefonds is within just a few minutes walk yet, we ambled for miles through the surrounding forests. We could hear an amazing variety of songbirds, caught a glimpse of dear in the undergrowth and even a foraging stoat. Everywhere was that peaceful. Further afield there are many landmarks and rural attractions as well as historic towns and villages to explore. All wrapped up with the terrific staff and facilities at the hotel, this was a very memorable trip for us.

Interior of the chateau was disappointing but this could be because we expected too much after visiting the fabulous Chateau Chantilly very recently.

We visited for the chateau and have stayed at the Hotel Beaudon before so to return kind of says it all. It's charming, old school and lovely for it. The location is great in the heart of the village overlooking the lake and chateau, has a wonderful terrace for al fresco eating and the food is great, possibly the best breakfast we've had in all the years of visiting France. Dinner was excellent as well... The staff all speak perfect English but were also patient and kind enough to put up with my awful attempts at the language which I, for one, appreciated! Merci a vous.

It's not to say that I didn't like it, but it is an older hotel. For me, that's the charm. There is no lift and no air conditioning for example, but the windows open wide with shutters and how much nicer is that on a warm summer's evening?

The location is superb with a view across the end of the lake to the wonderful chateau. Overall, the hotel is traditional and a little tired but still comfortable, the staff are excellent. The evening meal was served on the terrace across the road in a nice relaxed atmosphere although the steak was disappointing. The starters were both good as was the sweet course. In the morning, we enjoyed a good continental breakfast with excellent choice and good pleasant service. Our pets, two miniature dachshunds were made welcome.

There was a beautiful view from our window of the lake and the castle. The bed was very comfortable and they provided an electric kettle so we could have tea in bed. Food was amazing and an excellent price - 22 euros for a three course meal with 5 star quality. They catered for my vegetarian friend needs and the staff were always cheerful and happy to help.

The size of the shower. Although okay for me it was a bit tight for my 6 foot 6 husband. This won’t stop us visiting again.

In a great location overlooking the lake and castle. You have to park down the road, but that was no issue for us and parking was free. Our room was very clean, with a large comfy bed. There were good continental breakfast choices each day. The staff are absolutely lovely, helpful and cheerful. Lunch and dinner menus had good choices and delish food. We enjoyed it! There was an indicator in the shower to show how much water was used, encouraging guests to conserve water, which was good to see. If we returned to the area, we'd stay again.

The room decor was a little tired, as was the bathroom. It's all perfectly functional but just not as modern as you might see elsewhere. There's no aircon, so if you get hot weather the room will be very hot. Bear in mind you're in a rural french hotel, not a big chain, so manage your expectations! The good things far outweigh the slightly dated decor.

Lovely family run hotel in excellent location! Clean and comfortable with exceptional restaurant! Very welcoming host (owner and chef) and so nice they could accomodate a vegetarian diet with a lovely meal! Beautiful view of the castle from our room and lovely town to walk around!

Everything! Location excellent for a stopover or short break; staff extremely helpful, professional and friendly - we were late arriving, but they assured us we'd get a meal, we were late down to breakfast (hadn't put our watches forward!) but they accommodated us regardless; the restaurant menu was varied, imaginative and excellent; the room was large, comfortable and with a superb view of the castle and lake. It was so good we extended our stay and walked in the extensive forest (map provided in local tourist information office).

Situated in a beautiful old building, the view of the room is stunning looking at the castle and the lake. The location of the hotel is excellent and the help from the owners exquisite.

As almost always in France, the room was quite small though quite well organised such that you could make the best of it.

A wonderful central location to this very pretty little town. We had dinner the first night and it was excellent. The staff are exceptionally friendly and efficient.

Beaudon is a small provincial hotel so the bedrooms are fairly small but perfectly comfortable, I think the lack of bathroom toiletries could be looked at.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. They alerted us to book a table for dinner because it was a holiday and it was going to be full. Perfect location with great view of the chateau. Great restaurant!

No elevator! The rooms are a bit oldish (but still comfortable).
