We enjoyed this wonderful hotel that was so close to all the major attractions of Granada. They have a good selection of options for the free breakfast... which were delicious. Claudia, the cook, is amazing!! She deserves the tips... Gabby and Toby were very kind and welcoming. They helped us book tours and shuttles which helped us out a lot. The prices for their tours were better than the ones we found on our own. Gabby was also there to help us with any questions we had about Granada. We loved the cute menagerie of dogs and cats at the hotel. It felt like home 😁. I'm so pleased that we chose this hotel. I can't recommend them enough if you are looking for a nice place to stay.
Nothing...we loved it all...

First and foremost, the staff at the Il Padrino is excellent, very helpful, and many of them speak English. They are friendly and make you feel at home there. Laundry (at a cost) is available here and you can buy cold drinks from them. The location couldn't be better, there isn't any noise at night, and there are even a few dogs and cats (quiet ones, for the most part) to enjoy. They also do some tours of the area, if you like.
The only problem is the heat. There is no AC. They have fans, and that helps, but the structure seems to be one that magnifies the heat rather than diminishes it.

The hosts Gaby and Toby were super friendly, nothing was too much trouble . ( excellent english ) They have a wealth of knowledge of things to do in snd around Granada . The property is in an excellent central location so easy to walk to all restaurants etc . The rooms were wonderful and exceptionally clean with a gorgeous garden to sit in just outside your door The breakfast was delicious!!!. You can also get your laundry done there for a small extra cost. We stayed 3 nights and will definitely stay there when we end our Nicaragua trip in a months time .

Il Padrino is an absolute gem! Communication with Toby and Gabi before I arrived and during my stay was excellent. I felt welcomed as soon as I arrived. The hotel is really well designed with a dining / communal space at the front and guest rooms to the rear. My room was beautiful and the bed was really comfortable. I loved the Colonial style furniture. Everywhere is spotless. Breakfast is great. It’s also a big bonus that they offer a laundry service at a very reasonable price. The location is excellent for exploring Granada and felt very safe. Toby and Gabi gave me lots of helpful information about Granada and they can arrange tours too, as well as taxis to / from the airport or other locations. The most special part of my stay here is the homely feel and that you immediately feel part of their family. I am returning here after a trip to the Corn Islands and I am really looking forward to my second visit.
I loved everything.

Friendly staff - the man who we interacted with most, who, I believe, is one of the people that runs the place, certainly seems like a nice guy, like a gentle soul. Good breakfast. The building itself is kept clean, and is lovely and charming. It appears to be an old Spanish colonial building and, though it's been renovated, very much retains that look. My wife, who is Nicaraguan, complimented on the high ceilings of the buildings in Granada, and this is also true of this place, and adds to the attractiveness. The ceiling fans in our room spun fast and sent a strong current of air down to us. The building itself, including the rooms, had a cooler temperature than I expected, especially given the lack of air conditioning (which I was somewhat concerned about, but which I, thankfully, discovered to not be an issue). They let us leave our luggage there after we checked out so we could walk around Granada unencumbered for a while, which we certainly appreciated. I also met possibly the most well-behaved dog - a pretty dalmation - that I've encountered in my life.
On the walk back at night (which is not a long walk, and, via one route, takes you past a lovely old church), the streets are, at certain points, a bit empty, which had me feeling a bit unsafe. That said, on the latest walk back we passed by a bar that was still hopping at 10 pm, and the presence of the people at the outdoor tables there helped me feel a bit safer. There also wasn't hot water, but that seems to be fairly typical of Nicaragua. The water was fine, though - it was cool, but hardly the painfully frigid water I've experienced at some other places in Central America.

This is hospitality! Tobi, Gaby and the crew know how to welcome guests and how to make a stay unforgetable. The warmth like being at home and the comfort (incl. tasty breakfast, laundry service and a full fridge) like being in a hotel. A absolute recommendation. And nice add-on: they’ve very cute animals. For us as big animal lovers that was a big pré, but for anybody who’s not a big fan of animals: no worries, because they only ask your attention when you request it. If not, you won’t be bothered by the fact they live there as well.

This lovely little hotel is in a good location less than a 10-minute walk to the main square and bus station. The young couple who own it are very professional and hospitable. She is Nicaraguan and he is Korean and English. Both speak excellent English (He grew up in England). There is a shared kitchen, and an included breakfast, which was tasty. My room was medium size with a closet, lots of hangers, and a full-length mirror. The ceiling is very tall, which gives the room a spacious feeling. The bed was comfortable, and the WiFi worked well. The bathroom is a bit dimly lit, but the shower felt wonderful. Several towels were provided. The hotel was quiet. I didn't hear my neighbors or any street noise.
There were two ceiling fans, but no air conditioner, so the room was pretty warm. The room had two windows, but they were frosted and sat right on the walkway, so for privacy reasons, I kept the windows closed. This made the room a bit dark, but I was given a small bedside lamp on request, which I appreciated. The room had an old analog TV, not a flat screen or smart TV. I'm not a TV watcher, so I didn't care, but some people may. There was no desk in the room, so no place to sit and work or to eat. However, there are tables and chairs in the small dining area, so you can eat and work there if necessary, I really enjoyed my stay and wanted to extend, but they didn't have availability.

This was a very peaceful place to stay within walking distance to everything in town. The rooms are spacious, clean and bright and have excellent overhead fans. The included breakfast was amazing. There’s actually a menu to choose from and the portions are generous. There are lots of restaurants close by and a small grocery store just a minute away. It is in a quieter area of town but still close to everything. I would definitely stay again.

Cute green courtyard, large room, only hairdryer I have seen in Nicaragua as well as hot water. The breakfast was very good and fresh, staff super friendly! Very good wifi also!
The lighting was really bad, impossible to read. At night it gets very hot and humid (my bathingsuit did not dry in 2 days)- there is no net on the window and door faces the common corridor so if you want to keep people and mosquitoes out you need to lock everything and it is suffocating. Unfortunately I had a really bad sleep here. hope both issues can be resolved in future!

This was our favorite place we stayed during our trip of Central America. The hotel is as central as it is beautiful, with large clean rooms overlooking a garden. We saw no bugs. There’s a common room for breakfast, and every amenity you could ask for. A short walk from some of Granadas best restaurants, best views, a storefront with anything a traveler might miss or need, and conveniently, a gym across the street. The owners, Toby and Gaby, are incredibly friendly and helpful. They really made our stay a breeze. There is ample info and assistance for tours, transport, experiences, and you can even rent their scooter for the day, which we did to visit Apoyo lake. Their dogs and cats are adorable, the staff are super friendly, the traditional Nicaraguan breakfast is great. For the price, a clear 10 for value. Cannot recommend it enough.
No compaints.
