The location is not central but the parking lot makes the hotel very attractive (you need a car if you are staying there). The landscape is awesome. Room was clean and breakfast as well ok.

Access was up a steep,narrow, badly surfaced single track road off a fairly busy road., which made access difficult. There was significant dust on my wife’s bedside table when we arrived. Breakfast was poor in comparison with every other hotel we stayed at during the holiday - limited choice etc.

Charming hotel in a beautiful location, spacious and comfortable rooms with a rustic style. I suppose it would have been fantastic to have been able to explore some facilities beyond the room.

To experience adventures, I rented a cabin in the middle of the forest. Certainly, it's not what I expect when booking a hotel in a German city to attend a business meeting the next day. You expect certain minimum standards, which in my case were not met. We arrived directly from the airport at 20:50. The hotel was closed, without any lights to guide us. At -1°C, in a blizzard and snow, we had to illuminate a sign (only in German) to call a phone number that directed us to our rooms. We had to drag our suitcases through the snow outside the hotel in complete darkness with the strong sleet of snow. As there was no service at the hotel, we had to go to the center of Hagen to have dinner (we hadn't eaten since 12:30 at Barcelona airport). And, oh surprise! When we returned to the hotel, the car was slipping on the access road to the hotel with a steep slope due to the accumulated snow. The first time we went up without a problem, but this second time my children had to get out to push the car to avoid leaving it stuck halfway up. The next day, it was even more snowy, and I was worried about slipping with the car. I asked the only person at the hotel, a woman who spoke zero English, and she indicated that there was nothing she could do, that it was what it was. There we were, abandoned to our fate in a semi-closed hotel. I decided to risk going down, fortunately, everything went well. In conclusion, very little professionalism and very disappointed with the level of service.

There wasn’t one thing to like. Pulled up a long winding road and drive to an old building in poor condition with no signage but a small painted name on it. No staff there at 4:30 when told to check in … as in no one there at all to meet. No check in area, buildings were locked, restaurant closed, Terrible, but I’d prepaid in full so called phone number and a man answered and finally agreed he must come back in 15 min. I’d written in original requests when I confirmed reservation I was handicapped and needed a lower room floor as picture showed and no steps..double. This message sent many days out from arrival day and no message back. Only room they offered was a single cot in a tiny old old room that smelled really bad. Said the only double was on 2nd floor# 19 I think , no elevators , 32 tall cement steps out side and long staircase in and a back corner room. Cement floor in room, old carpet dirty in hall to it, and a room not finished. Even toilet paper roll on sink as only holes where fixture to hold it would be. Room 19

No water or anything in room, no vending machines , restaurant closed, no coffee machine…nothing. Old thin towels, 2 hand and 2 a little larger, shower with cob webs and cracks, and two beds pushed together of wood frames so hard thin mattress that made the cot in the navy my husband said felt better than it. One barely flat fitted sheet barely covered both together, two single comforters and a large decorator style pillow covered for each but not sleeping pillows. A balcony that was rotten with age and wood rot flaking off it and it connected to another room . One light in entire room overhead and one wall bathroom switch. In 35 years running a meeting planner company, as a professional planner, this is the worst experience I’ve survived as no sleeping happened.10,000 hotels globally. We left at 7:15 when no one had arrived and no promised coffee or breakfast to buy was even set up at opening door way, and no one anywhere
