The location was excellent within a short walk to the town and all the shops and restaurants.The breakfast was excellent , fresh fruits and plenty to eat .There was a shared kitchen on the same level as the bedrooms.Charles was perfect host and his home was like stepping back in time.The bedroom was enormous with a comfortable bed and plenty of comfortable seating. There was a large bathroom. The views from the room were wonderful.There is also secure parking which was a bonus.

We loved the entire experience. Staying at Castel St-Leonard is like time-travel into a classical storybook adventure. Charles introduced us to the Chateau with a short history tour of the common areas on the main floor and then accompanied us to our rooms. Each private room was elegantly decorated with furniture and artwork from former ages, yet backed up with modern conveniences. Our stay in the spacious main suite was very comfortable with a large bed and very nice bath with shower. Charles ensured we started each day with a light breakfast of cereal, fresh fruit, juice, and pastries.

Our room was spacious and well furnished. The bed was large and the linens were high quality. The whole chateau has been tastefully decorated and furnished to reflect the period when it was built. The breakfast was excellent. The pastries were as expected when travelling in France. We particularly liked the fresh fruit. The table setting was inviting and all of the food was tasty. Above all, our host was outstanding. He eagerly assisted us with plans for exploring the area and really helped us absorb the culture of the chateau and the city. It was excellent.

Everything, impossible to fault the 'castel'. The host Charles was extremely diligent and paid attention to our every need The room was very big and confortable with a view overlooking the park. The shower was very good. Breakfast was copious. If you are looking for one place to stay in Falaise, this is the one to choose. You can also park your car on site.

The location was excellent, right in the centre of the town. Charles was very attentive to every detail and breakfast was a delight of fresh bread, croissants, home made jams and fresh fruit salad. The decor of the house and particularly the bedroom suite was outstanding, very chic and elegant. Fantastic view from the room, overlooking the park. It was the perfect location to visit the castle of William the Conqueror which was partly the reason for our visit.

There was nothing we didn't like. We couldn't have asked for a better overnight stay.

We received a warm welcome from Charles who was eager to tell us about the history of this charming property. Wall to wall antiques made the property very interesting. It doesn't have all the mod cons you might come to expect in modern hotels but that misses the point - this accommodation is different. Breakfast is a real treat - lots on offer and all of the highest quality.

It’s an historic gem of a city chateau, beautifully restored. Charles welcomed us warmly, told us the history of the Castel and gave us a tour of the main reception rooms. We parked in the gated entrance. We had a very early departure for our ferry from Caen and Charles kindly offered to leave breakfast in the kitchenette on our floor.

The whole house was beautiful.. Our room was elegantly furnished, and the bathroom was immaculate & spacious. The location was close to everywhere you would wish to visit in Falaise. Parking was secure. The breakfast was excellent with freshly prepared fruit salad & a generous choice of baked goods, cheese, yoghurt etc. .

Awesome.Once again, our stay at this magnificent, elegant, and charming historical building is by far one of the most pleasurable experiences we are blessed to continue enjoying. This historical Castel, located in the heart of the city is designed with an atmosphere created to transport you back to the 18th century. The host and owner, Charles Vatinal provides exceptionally breathtakingly beautiful accommodations. As guests, you will encounter a pleasurable and remarkable experience as we have and are looking forward to returning once again.

Perfect town location. Fabulous buffet breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and lovely coffee, the log fire was lit in the breakfast room which was a lovely touch. Really amazing room in this historic building and a very comfortable bed. We will definitely return.
