The location of the property was perfect. All of the local attractions, including restaurants and shops, were in easy walking distance. The room was excellent. Really large and airy, tastefully decorated with a very comfortable bed. There is no television in the room, but we did not miss one. The communal kitchen was an added bonus, with the microwave, fridge and kettle. Charles was a delightful host. He went out of his way to make our stay an enjoyable one. Charles was very helpful, making suggestions for places to visit in the area (we were particularly interested in the Second World War/Normandy Battle sites). The breakfast was lovely, with fresh fruit salad and freshly squeezed orange juice, various pastries and breads. The parking was secure (the gates are locked at night). This is a delightful old property and Charles has managed to retain many original features, while adding some modern touches. Will definitely stay here again.

We were on motorcycles and the gravel surface of the car park presented a challenge, but this was a minor issue.

Charles was a wonderful host who went out of his way to make our stay memorable. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms renovated, bed large and comfortable and he provided a beautiful French breakfast even when we had to leave earlier for our excursions. Falaise is a lovely village with a lot of history having been the birthplace of a William the Conquerer and has a number of places to eat and drink with the Castel located in the centre of the middle of town walking distance to everything.

The location was excellent within a short walk to the town and all the shops and restaurants.The breakfast was excellent , fresh fruits and plenty to eat .There was a shared kitchen on the same level as the bedrooms.Charles was perfect host and his home was like stepping back in time.The bedroom was enormous with a comfortable bed and plenty of comfortable seating. There was a large bathroom. The views from the room were wonderful.There is also secure parking which was a bonus.

This is one of the most beautiful chambres d'hôte we have ever stayed in. The room was superbly finished in impeccable taste by Charles, the very engaging host. Breakfast in the splendid 18th century salon was a particular highlight. Private secured parking was a definite bonus.

Beautiful period property, full of history. Fantastic views onto the park. The Rotonde room is fabulous and full of lovely furniture. The bed was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, very fresh produce, plentiful and served on china plates and bowls. The owner Charles was very helpful with advice on the area and a very attentive host. Many thanks.

We loved the entire experience. Staying at Castel St-Leonard is like time-travel into a classical storybook adventure. Charles introduced us to the Chateau with a short history tour of the common areas on the main floor and then accompanied us to our rooms. Each private room was elegantly decorated with furniture and artwork from former ages, yet backed up with modern conveniences. Our stay in the spacious main suite was very comfortable with a large bed and very nice bath with shower. Charles ensured we started each day with a light breakfast of cereal, fresh fruit, juice, and pastries.

Our room was spacious and well furnished. The bed was large and the linens were high quality. The whole chateau has been tastefully decorated and furnished to reflect the period when it was built. The breakfast was excellent. The pastries were as expected when travelling in France. We particularly liked the fresh fruit. The table setting was inviting and all of the food was tasty. Above all, our host was outstanding. He eagerly assisted us with plans for exploring the area and really helped us absorb the culture of the chateau and the city. It was excellent.

Everything, impossible to fault the 'castel'. The host Charles was extremely diligent and paid attention to our every need The room was very big and confortable with a view overlooking the park. The shower was very good. Breakfast was copious. If you are looking for one place to stay in Falaise, this is the one to choose. You can also park your car on site.

Nothing, it was perfect.

It is a beautiful property situated in central Normandy close to all activities. we went there to watch two stages of the tour de France. It was perfect. Charles was a fantastic host from communicating in advance of our visit to afterwards. Highly recommended and I would definitely go back.

Fabulous old listed property in the centre with excellent private parking. Very attentive staff and a great continental breakfast. Rooms are large and delightfully furnished with antiques also having an excellent bathroom. No TV which was a bonus for those who prefer to read a book or relax in the surroundings
