I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. Lena, Jil, Bacary, and the rest of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful, going above and beyond to help with absolutely everything I needed. They are very special people, and they are running a very clean, comfortable, reliable place. I would absolutely stay here again. The wifi worked well, I appreciated the hot shower, the bed was comfortable, and I enjoyed the location. About a half-hour walk from Plateau, Sucupira, or Palmarejo, with plenty of ATMs, minimarts, and restaurants just a few minutes' walk away.

- Joel, the manager, was fantastic and had a solution for everything. John, the security guard, was really friendly and helpful. Claire, who made us breakfast, was also very friendly and cheerful. All-in-all, the staff was really great. - Joel helped us find laundry service as well as car service to the airport. He really went above and beyond. - Rooms were clean, air-con worked well, hot water took a couple minutes to start up, but there was plenty of it. Also, the whole building is very clean and feels safe. - The best beach in Praia is about a 10-12 minute walk from here (Quebra Canela). - There are many restaurants and markets within a very short walk of Tchada Hostel. - It is surprisingly quiet at night. Praia is not exactly a quiet city, but we slept like babies here.

- The only missing point for us was that there was only a microwave to cook with. There was a stove, but it didn't work. I don't see anywhere on the Booking listing where it says what kitchen amenities are included other than "kitchen". A place to cook would really bring the place together, as other hostel visitors could cook together and bring out that vibe that backpackers are often looking for. There is a lot of space to eat and hang out on the first floor, but no real way to prepare food. - Other than this, everything was fantastic.

The staff really made me feel welcome and were always available to answer any enquiries I had. I ended up extending my stay and they were very accomodating. I flew in very late in the evening and as a solo female traveller, arriving in to a new city can be quite daunting, but there was already a staff member waiting to help with my luggage from the taxi. Breakfast was healthy and delicious with plenty of options available, and was offered in a lovely communal space. Location was close to supermarkets and good restaurants with more of a local vibe, which I find more enjoyable than what you can find in the overpriced tourist areas.

Wifi would drop out often but I was hardly in my room so it wasn't a major problem.

Good value, pleasant and helpful staff, decent breakfast for the cost of the stay, large room. Air con ok though remote a little temperamental. Shower fine. A bit rough around the edges in places, and some music playing in the street until after midnight, but overall good value and what I needed.

The front desk staff Bacary and Andrea were very friendly and always willing to help with anything. The breakfast was great always fresh bread ,fruit,cake ,juices etc Had a very nice clean and comfortable room with balcony. I liked that the place was always kept spotless. Location wasn’t too bad it was just a short taxi or bus ride to town and maybe a 15 min walk to the beach.

Very friendly staff and good quality rooms. Some of them have private balconies. Also breakfast was good. Though keep in mind that this hostel is about 1.5km from the city centre in a residential area AND you have to walk up and down 2 hills to get there. This is not particularly bad, just noteworthy, especially if you're without a car.

See above: the area around is more a residential area, not super downtown. But if you're not looking for many bars and restaurants, you'll be happy here!

Simple and affordable accommodation, comfortable and exactly as expected - good value for money! Friendly staff and breakfast included. I was surprised to discover the room was air conditioned too. Exactly what I needed for a one night stay in Praia.

The location is not the best but it is still a walkable distance to the beach or to the town centre - or a short taxi ride.

Very friendly staff. Located in Achada de Santo António, beach is at a walkable distance, you must descend some stairs though. You can take the bus no 6 to the city center (Plateau) a vouple of streets away if you want to explore the local sights. Breakfast was basic. Overall a good stay for a hostel!

Great ‘hostel’ which I’d say feels more like a hotel! One of the best rooms I have had in Cabo Verde for this price! Totally recommend it. The receptionist Bacarri was of great help and very friendly, sound guy! Breakfast was included and it has a lovely selection with fresh Baobab juice too! Wi-fi worked fine as well.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast exceeded our expectation as it was delicious! The accommodation is near to the most beautiful beach in Praia.

At night it was quite noisy outside the hotel. The equipment of the room was little bit outdated and insufficient (for three people).
