Great homey feeling! Clean, well equiped, spacious, calm. Everything was taken a good care of. I would love to come back and stay. Free parking next to your door. Big Bend national park is just 1.5 hours away. Also there is a Dollar General store very close which has food and all the other necessities. The Alpine city has many decent shopping places, souvenirs, food (we recommend trying Bock Burger takeaway!) you can reach those by walking or driving easily. People are very nice and friendly around. Perfect city to get away from big city life.

Check-in must be done at different location, but to too far just 2 minutes drive. Wifi inside room 11 does not connect (too weak), but it works just a few steps oustside on a patio. The swimimng pool is a bit too cold and the contrast is just too high compared to the outside temperature (+-100F) . I would recommend to increase the water temperature a bit, so it is easier for kids to swim.

A clean, well-equipped room in a beautiful old-fashioned style. And a good, informative email about the fact that You must check in BEFORE 7 pm at the Holland Hotel on the main street which is easy to find.

A somewhat noisy heating system working strange because a click-clack system only blew in the warm air from time to time. And the fan speeds F1 and F2 were identical - and very strong

Everything was outstanding. Clean rooms, fresh linens, towels. Location was great. Alpine eatery's were $$$$.

Our room did not have a coffee maker (the coffee in the lobby is horrible) so another couple and us were talking and they gave us their coffee maker, they dont drink coffee, that was very nice. The Mirror in the room, seemed odd to us, two married couples, we could just look at the mirror and see each others beds. I guess if you had kids it would be handy to have the wall mirror right there, (to keep an eye on the kids I guess) but not for couples, it was odd. Alpine's culinary, eating out is very expensive, over priced for sure. But loved the little town and Artistry.

Loved the western decor! Great location to stay in West Texas. Very quiet facilities and it felt like we were renting a room from family. It had a very home feeling about it and that's what we loved the most. The pool and outdoor areas were a plus for the property. We loved learning about the history of the place and would book again! Loved our very own parking space as well!

It's difficult to say what we didn't like about the stay. I would say maybe a dumpster so we can throw our own trash if it gets too full. Maybe we didn't see it when we were staying.

Room was clean and had a nice western atmosphere. It had everything I needed but was a bit dated. Bathroom was very small but it was adequate for a night or two. Certainly very basic but I wanted atmosphere which I got. Exterior entrance but door had more than adequate security so felt perfectly safe. Liked they were pet friendly.

Train came by with noise about 10:45pm. They do give you earplugs and I was not yet asleep. Had I been asleep it would have woken me up. Large trucks were also noisy due to closeness to the highway.

The Maverick is nostalgic! Like a cool kitchy motel. I’ve stayed here several times, and this one was for working remotely. Only problem was I could not get the WIFI to connect.

I didn’t like having to check in downtown to get your room key.

The bathroom was clean and appeared well-maintained. Good, strong water pressure in the shower. I have seen some older reviews that talked about showers being in a state of disrepair. For our stay, this was not the case. Everything in the bathroom worked as intended. Beds were fine. We had two queen beds. Neither my daughter nor I slept that well on our respective mattresses, but we had dogs with us so I wouldn’t fault the hotel for poor sleep necessarily. Overall a great stay.

- Pillows were kind of lame. Haha. I like firmer, larger pillows. These were pretty flimsy and flat. - This didn’t bother us at all but the hotel is right on the “main drag” in Alpine, such as it is. In our room we could definitely hear the sporadic traffic, but we’re from the city and our house is on a main drag, so we’re acclimated. Something to keep in mind. They must get complaints because they provided ear plugs on the dresser.

I rebooked in January 19-31.2023. I had to leave today for a medical emergency, January 26, 2023. The Motel was fine with my checking out and refunding me the remaining days. BUT I CANNOT connect with Booking.com for a refund. The number I have only asks for a confirmation # 2178797101 and then a pin number. I do not know my pin number.

The AC/mini split did make a funky noise and was a bit annoying, and also did not cool very well. It still got hot throughout the night. we were in room 11.

I became ill and had to return to Houston for treatment 5 days early. Michelle at the Maverick is fine with refunding me the 5 days. She tried to help me contact Bookings.com for a refund to no avail. I have spent over an hour twice trying to make contact to apply for a refund.
