Château de Maubreuil exceeded our expectations! This was our first stay at the Château. First impression was WOW! It is everything one would expect a Château to be- Magical! It is clear that a lot of thought was put in to the landscaping with objects of art everywhere you look. Even the robot lawnmowers we dubbed Mo and Mourine were charming. The staff is A+ attentive and friendly and always available. They always greet you with a “Bonjour” and a smile. Remy, Matthew and Clara all volunteered to help us with planning our day trips and their recommendations definitely did not disappoint. The restaurant staff deserve to be mentioned here also. The food is of the highest quality and we wanted for nothing. We will definitely return and always remember our stay at Chateau Maubreuil.

We had dinner at the restaurant the first night of our stay. Fish was on the menu and it was delicious. However the next night the meal was pork and I’m a vegetarian who sometimes will eat fish. It was a little disappointing that even on the first night there was not a vegetarian option. By the way, they grow and serve their own vegetables and fruit at the Chateau. The preserves offered at breakfast were especially a treat.

Beautiful setting and the chateau was amazing. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It’s beautifully decorated to a high standard. Well done to the chef. The food was to die for. Absolutely fantastic. Taste and presentation was perfect.

Just a few this that could have made our stay a tiny bit better would have been air conditioning in the restaurant. We had mosquitoes in our room on arrival but quickly rectified by spraying them. It would have been nice to use the spa facilities of the hotel without charge if you are a guest rather than paying but it wasn’t that much of an issue. Also it’s a bit inconvenient to use the elevator as you have to walk through the dining room to use it. Not nice especially if in your bathrobe. You have to also walk through the restaurant or the front of the hotel to get to the pool, which I’m not sure other guests like.

There was nothing NOT to like.. breakfast is pretty standard fare, as can be expected but dinner was lovely with a lot of attention to detail; well prepared and carefully presented and served. As non-alcohol drinkers we had a lovely choice of juices, freshly made on the premises.

Nothing much ! It is not a problem at all but our room, Venice Carnaval is quite theatrical and dark. Being slightly older guests, we felt there could have been more lights in the room. This is all subjective as the next, possibly younger couple will find it perfect for them. There is a choice of rooms though and is really not a problem at all. It would have been very nice if I had a covered parking for my car !

Hotel was amazing and the room was out of this world. The best room we have ever stayed in!! Staff were amazing especially Alex who went above and beyond. The hotel grounds and pool were outstanding and we cannot wait to come back!

We booked this hotel as a little honeymoon after our wedding in France and I told the hotel this multiple times yet on arrival there were no mention of this or any gesture during our stay which is poor for a 5* hotel and being such a special occasion for us.

The stay at the castle hotel left a great impression - an exclusive environment, attentive service and a peaceful atmosphere. The historical interior is subtly combined with modern amenities. Dinner in the restaurant rises to a gourmet level. We recommend it to those looking for quality and French exclusivity, a delicate dinner. The castle's breakfast menu will surprise even experienced guests! Premium level service! Everything has been thought of, from hygiene products to a gift for seeing off guests! We will be back!

The Château de Maubreuil is a truly amazing 5-star hotel located on a huge estate just outside of Nantes. The decoration of the entire hotel and your room will take you back in time. This theming around the former lord of the manor is done down to the smallest detail. The breakfast is rich and fresh, and the restaurant offers very tasty French cuisine for dinner. While we were unable to use the outdoor pool due to weather conditions, the hotel's spa in the basement is a very relaxing place. The gardens around the Caste are amazing and offer exciting opportunities for a walk.

They did not have air conditioning in the restaurant and entire first floor - and only marginal ac for some of the rooms, but understandably it was during an extreme hot spell out of their control. Dinner room was beyond hot n sweltering to enjoy- even at latest time possible - again weather is out of their control but ….

Beautiful building, amazing surroundings gardens full of elements to discover. Great breakfast / brunch. Loved the wallpaper everywhere. Loved the room on 2 floors, very spacious and beautiful.

I would improve the air conditioning system: it's very old and very loud, it was very difficult to sleep well. Moreover, I would improve the access to the pool especially if you have babies and strollers: there was no direct access to it.

Amazing hotel, full of tech in the rooms. Electric toilets are a novelty! Large slipper bath on the top floor of the Prince de Galles suite. All rooms themed and an experience in themselves. Communal areas within the hotel full of art and beauty, so much to look at - it really is a stand out and memorable experience staying here. The Sunday/ Monday set menu where guests do not get to chose their own options is actually incredibly good value - beautifully presented and tasty seasonal gourmet dishes for around €30 per person for 3 courses. Unbelievable value. Extensive wine menu. Dogs also welcome at this hotel for a small fee. All staff professional, well turned out and friendly. Lots of information signs around the gardens describing the thought processes and design decisions of the owner which are informative for guests. Sadly didn’t have time to try the Spa. Would absolutely stay here again. It’s amazing!

Some gardens within the property are a bit tatty (coming from a garden designer) but I appreciate that a property of this magnitude is a 7 day a week job in terms of trying to maintain so much landscape and Mother Nature can usually move faster than us humans!

With the Christmas decorations and the chilly weather the property lit up like a fairy land. The staff were enthusiastic friendly and very helpful all the time. Our room theme was tastefully and authentically done and connected to personal memories of my time in Africa years ago. The room had all modern facilities and lovely views. The grounds and gardens were inviting and interesting. The link between travel and histories was seamless and provided additional interest. We enjoyed the bar and the restaurant on both nights. A wonderful stay/
