The hotel is located in most beautiful place we've visited in Sri Lanka! Two beautiful beaches and a very nice territory (the pool, big chess, ping pong, the bar area and and nice walking paths). The staff is lovely, they were always there for us and made us feel like home. Good choices for breakfast and dinner, our kids are picky eaters but always found something to eat and the ice cream in the dinner buffet was always a hit. The room is really spacious, clean and beautiful and the sea view was fantastic. Would love to visit again!

The bathroom shower might need a little renovation but I'm sure it will be done soon as the hotel and the rooms are treated very well

Excellent location and incredibly helpful and friendly staff. The room itself was comfortable, with complimentary robe and slippers. The spa was fantastic and highly recommend! As the location is on the coast, the beach is easy to walk to and is very private and clean, the pool is also a great choice otherwise. The view at the buffet area is stunning and a great way to the start the day! Would highly recommend the buffet food.

The room had a small ant problem, but nothing that got in the way of the stay, just would not recommend leaving food in the room. The bathroom has what we needed but could have been cleaned to a higher standard.

The hotel and staff were absolutely lovely, the buffet breakfast was wonderful and had lots of options to choose from. The pool area was great although sun beds had towels on from very early on so would suggest more sun beds around the pool or a rule that people have to be sitting on them rather than reserving them as this was quite frustrating (although staff were always around to help and ensure you did get a space if needed).

For us personally, we would've like more restaurants and bars in walking distance as we had a small baby with us and so it would've been easier with the pram but we could easily get tuk tuks to Hiriketiya (where it's more vibey) but that's something that we should've done more research on.

The Diwella Resort and Spa is easily one of the best places to stay in Sri Lanka if you're looking for a relaxing beach stay. We ended up going down to Hiriketiya beach too but that was rammed with tourists whereas Dickwella beach was far quieter and much more serene. My partner both had ayurvedic treatments at the spa. The pindasweda treatment is a must - it's similar to a hot stone massage but they use heated cloth sacks with herbal oils are pressed over your entire body. We also had a seafood platter with crab, giant lobster, prawns and snapper that were caught fresh that morning which the restaurant manager specifically prepared for us upon request. Our room was kindly upgraded to the best room in the resort which had a spacious stand alone bathtub and most importantly a seafront view to wake up to. The staff were all incredibly kind and welcoming. I would definitely visit the Dickwella Spa and Resort again.

Our stay at Dickwella Resort and Spa was the highlight of our visit to the south of Sri Lanka. The location, food, service, and staff were above and beyond our expectations. We made the choice of having breakfast and diner at the main restaurant during our whole stay and I would highly recommend the same to any guest. The food is some of the best anywhere in Sri Lanka, especially the fresh fish made in various ways. The staff made all the effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible. A big thank goes out to everyone at the reception, restaurant, pool, housekeeping and maintenance for their exceptional service. We look forward to our next stay with you.

The particular room we stayed in though spacious and comfortable, felt it could use a bit of a makeover.

Clean (and not too expensive) property close by the sea. Kind staff and very good breakfast (note that’s it’s a buffet). Nice terrace adjacent to your room overlooking the sea (would be great if the door to the terrace could also be locked from the outside).

The property is a bit outdated and quite far from the trendy places in Hireketiya. If you are searching for a place where most people come to have breakfast, lunch and dine this is your place to go. As we are a younger couple (with no children yet) we were looking for a different kind of vibe (of course that is personal). The property would look better after renovation (especially the poolside/restaurants and rooms) are a bit outdated. They should get rid of the plastic blue sun beds. It gives the property a cheap look which is unfortunate as the location is very pretty.

The staff, from the moment we got to the resort, were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The moment they saw my daughter, they ignored me and instantly started making her feel comfortable and gifting her a lotus flower that she cherished the entire visit - it was the right move. Win my kid, win my business. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. There was a separate bed/cot for our daughter. It was under the AC unit, so we had to rig up a blanket tent so she wasn't freezing. The breakfast, pizza, and bar food were wonderful. Keep an eye out in the wave pools for wildlife - and on your food for the squirrels. The pool was lovely as well and, when we visited, was rarely in use during the day. Make sure to check out the spa as well. The biggest win were the views, sunsets and sunrises, and the beaches on both sides. Each offered something different. One had a swing, restaurants, and a lot of locals - take a walk to the point on that side around sunset, it was amazing. The other side was much calmer and quiet. The water was clear up to our waists and out about 50 yards.

We were disappointed, and confused at first, about dinner options. The buffet restaurant, halfway up the stairs, is expensive! Especially if you have spent time in other areas of Sri Lanka. It looked wonderful, but we couldn't justify the expense. My biggest complaint was the music. Every night they had someone up on the balcony playing music or DJing. It was loud. It is an incredibly beautiful place to sit and have a bar dinner or a cocktail. But we had to scream to hear each other. It took a lot of the romance out of the evening and kind of ruined the calmness of the vacation. Maybe if the hotel turned it down or didn't do it EVERY night.

Service really is exceptional. The staff look after your every need and nothing is too much to ask. We noticed a smell from a drain near our room and within minutes several staff arrived to fix it. The food is amazing and varied (go for the buffet, you won't be disappointed). And the views from the restaurant are second to none. The spa was great too.

We stayed in one of the refurbished rooms. It was more than adequate, but even that was looking a bit tired in terms of fittings and bathroom. Fairly good facilities, but everything else is perfect.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Dickwella Resort and Spa for two nights. Initially, we were disappointed with the sea view from our room, but the attentive staff promptly upgraded us to the best suite at no extra cost. This suite was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. The entire experience was enhanced by the friendly staff and superb service. The resort's location is stunning, with the sea surrounding it, providing breathtaking views from almost every corner, including the restaurant which offers a fantastic dining ambiance. The large, clean pool and the overall tranquil and pristine environment made our stay incredibly relaxing. Dickwella Resort and Spa truly offers excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

The setup of the resort is really nice. The opportunity to choose between two beaches was really cool. Plus on one of the beaches you can swim together with turtles with out any extra costs. Easy to move around as Tim-Tuk driver are just on the gate.

All linen and towels are washed with really strong smell washing powder. The food level is not so great especially in the evening. Also the drinks are system is messy.
