The hotel may not be the Walldorf Astoria NYC, but it has the best staff in the world. It starts with simple things like their basic friendliness, continues with the excellent breakfast service, and ends with special requests from guests like late checkout or laundry service. I have rarely experienced such accommodating hospitality. THANK YOU!

Unfortunately, in Albania, we have to talk about the issue of garbage on a regular basis. The beach in Durrës is a Armageddon for the discerning Baltic Sea vacationer, and even the diverse and friendly offerings on the beach can't make up for that. However, there are some decent and beautiful beaches in the Durrës area.

The staff is super friendly and very helpful. We had problems with the AC in our room, and the staff offered us alternative accommodation for the two nights it took to get it fixed. And we got the money back for the 2 nights and a reduced rate on the remainder of the stay. I'm very happy with our stay here. It's close to the beach and the modern and comfortable hotel is beautiful. You can tell that the owners have put a lot of thought and effort into the place.

The breakfast could do with a revamp. I think a hotel of this standard would benefit from offering a menu for breakfast and cooking up the food a la minute.

I loved that the hotel is situated right by the beach, it’s quiet and super comfortable. The locals were exceptionally welcoming and friendly and the food was great. Breakfast options from the hotel were incredible, meals were thoughtfully presented and staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. I’ll be visiting again soon and I highly recommend if you are seeking a nice place to relax by the beach with several restaurants within a walking distance.

I noticed the rooms did not have complimentary coffee, tea bags, electric kettle and tea cups, as a Londoner, having a cuppa is something we look forward to; which was a downer in this case. This would be a great improvement for the hotel towards future guests.

Location was great, we were able to walk down the beach towards Golem easily (takes 45-60 min, lovely walk) and take a short taxi to Kallmi beach. Easy access to the beach and many lounge chair/umbrella options.

Housekeeping did a very good job cleaning and providing toothbrushes & paste (which we had forgotten!), but then disposed of the toothbrushes after the first room cleaning. The next day, they left our room clean but without any toilet paper. The shower water spills onto the rest of the bathroom floor a bit. Room was spacious and nicely designed, but the sofa in the room was a bit stained. Breakfast should be kept colder.

Forget about how beautiful and clean the hotel is....trust me it is both. But what l loved about our stay was the exceptional service we got from the moment we got there just after midnight to when we left. These guys are good and l highly recommend booking this hotel. The beach is just 200 metres away and no need for towels, they provide you with some. Unfortunately l can't list all the good here but we are happy to have stayed at La Onda

The shower set up was well thought of. Water splashes everywhere on the floor. Probably need just a sliding door to limit it

The hotel is brand new and overall, we had a very positive experience. There was a small issue with the bathroom door not closing properly, but it was fixed immediately, so no real problem. Special thanks to the gentleman at the reception – he was incredibly helpful and friendly, assisting us with everything we needed. The rooms and common areas were spotless. The bathroom was well-equipped, and we had everything we needed. We also appreciated the beach towels provided. The beach is just a short walk away, which was perfect. Breakfast was good – we only stayed for two nights, so it’s hard to judge how it would be for a longer stay, but for a short trip it was just fine.

Exceptionally friendly service (thank you, Ermal!) and beautiful room. Location was on the nicer part of Durres beach, a 15 minute taxi from the main city.

Nothing to fault!

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and was truly impressed. The hotel is brand new, and both the exterior and interior design are outstanding. What stood out to me most was the fantastic team running it — from the reception to the kitchen staff. Everyone was warm and welcoming, yet always respectful of your personal space — a perfect balance of hospitality and professionalism. I’m very satisfied with my stay and will definitely return!

This was our best stay in Albania ! We traveled for 10 days,stayed in 6 different hotels,some cost very much but La Onda was the best one :) Breakfast is very important for me and somehow breakfast is served in Albania,not a buffet and usually it was too simple for us . Breakfast in La Onda was a good one. People that we met in this hotel were also wonderful,just wonderful - thank you :) Location is great,very close to the beach. Room is a bit small but the pillows - oh, I loved those pillows 😊 Definitely recommend it .

We arrived to Durres for the Giro d’Italia start and we really liked our stay at La Onda Hotel. The hotel is close to the beach and it’s super clean. The staff is very nice, special thanks to Flavio who helped us arrange everything we needed and helped us reach the opening ceremony and the start of the giro as well. Thank you again! ☺️

The hotel is close to a busy road but the sound proofing of the windows are great so it didn’t bother us during the night.
