Location is great just a few minutes far on foot from Ciudad Vieja,, the main tourist area. The hotel is great value for such an expensive city as Montevideo. Less than 60 Euros per night including breakfast is a great price for downtown Montevideo. Breakfast was okay. The reception staff members are all professional and friendly. Lots of TV channels in many different languages.

Brasilian tour groups stay in the hotel on a regular basis and they are extremely noisy and they fill the breakfast room easily, which means that you are forced to have breakfast later or feel uncomfortable having a quick light meal if you don't like very crowded places. My room was next to the elevator and the elevator doors were loud when closing all day long.

Hotel America was our home away from home for over a month. Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent central location, handy to everything we needed. We plan to return next year for 2-3 months.

The room was very well cleaned, and the air conditioning was new and worked great. The hotel is close to many stores and restaurants to go for lunch, dinner, and shopping, and had a very good breakfast. It was fairly close to the tourist points of the city. Overall it was a nice place to stay.

Room and bathroom had many cracks on the wall, needs a little bit of maintenance.

Location is perfect near to everything. Good breakfast with Boiled eggs, cold cuts, Juice, ham and other things.

Room size was very small and the shower was even smaller, with rain shower and small size you can hardly move without shutting the water off. Wifi practically good for nothing in the room on the 7th floor. I complained but they just gave me lip service.

I liked the room. Very small but modern and comfortable. Good shower too and excellent breakfast.

The parking. It wasn't free and not on the premises. Also you couldn't be sure in advance whether you would get a spot. Worst thing was they had charged my stay to my credit card one day in advance, which was against the conditions on my reservation. They sorted it out after much complaining.

Spacious room, walk to attractions, nearby eateries, staffers George went extra mile to ensure guest is comfy and safe understand hotel industry, Carina patiently gave clear directions to attractions, we need people like them. Times changed

Need maintenance update. Nothing you can do but depressing to face the wall on your vacation

You will not be allowed into your room before check-in time, but you can leave your luggage and return later.

The breakfast was good. The property is very neat. The location is awesome. The staff are very attentive.

The bathroom (shower 🚿 area) is kinda small/tight. It will be a bit challenging for an obese person to use comfortably.

Service and breakfast is really good, room is clean and confortable and the location is really the best for someone that wants to visit downtown area and Ciudadela.

I only stay for one day, so I don't have much to say about it. Everything works well for me during my stay.
