It was overall good, the room was spacious and nice. There was a safe and a fridge, which we appreciated! The breakfast was really good, lots of amazing pastry options and really good coffee! We enjoyed the terrace, it was really pleasant to eat outside. The lobby also had free coffee during the day.

It could have been a bit cleaner and the beds were not very comfy (l never complain about beds, but our bedsheet kept coming out and was too small, so halfway through the night you are on the bare mattress which is weird). Airconditioning was working on and off, but kept us awake. Breakfast could have a plant-based milk.

Almost everything. The staff was helpful and nice. The cleaning service was perfect. Breakfast with all that you need (I missed the bacon :)) People in the breakfast room were very nice also. Small adjustments are needed but all in all it was the best place we stayed in Montevideo.

The hotel should make more space and renovate the gym, which is old, tiny and I do not consider that a gym. I am sure that they will renovate it soon. I did not have time to try the sauna or the pool. The cable channels did not work but we did not have time to watch tv, therefore, it was not something that we checked properly.

Great location, two blocks from Plaza Independencia and the Old City. Front desk staff and even some of the maids speak passable English. Comfortable bed, safe in room. It's quiet at night. Very nice breakfast buffet on the 6th floor, including access to the terrace which has a nice view of the city. Slept in late one morning after an exhausting previous day with the "Do not disturb" sign on the door, and when I came to around 2 p.m. the maids were still willing and able to clean my room. Excellent value - I was there in the low season.

The only thing I didn't care for was the wi-fi. It worked OK as far as signal strength and speed, but kept logging me off every few hours and my devices were warning me of "security certificate" issues and giving me the option to "go back to safety." I'm not a tech guy, but the upshot was my devices were warning me the hotel's internet wasn't as secure as they would have liked. This made me reluctant to perform sensitive tasks online and I had to switch to the local 4g network which at least wasn't freaking out my phone. The only other negative- the lemonade at the breakfast buffet was horrid. Served totally unsweetened. Maybe it's just not my thing.

Great hotel, close to the Independence Square. Very comfortable bed (reasonably firm), clean, and helpful staff. Great breakfast on the top floor with potential to sit outside on the rooftop terrace. I liked being able to borrow a (fairly basic) bike for a few hours and also I liked the pool and spa area. Wifi was also good with good coverage.

I love both location and history of the hotel. Each floor has a unique look in terms of how Wyndham decided to feature different aspects of Uruguayan culture. In this sense, Montevideo is specially highlighted in all its glory. Having breakfast in the hotel terrace, with a wonderful view of the city that includes its coastal region as well as an architectural feat like Palacio Salvo, is a big selling point for tourists searching for an authentic experience. Big kudos to the staff, always smiling, efficient, and willing to find quick solutions to our requests.

I found the gym a bit disappointing. It is a small, packed room with no dumbbells nor flat bench. To make matters worse, the cable machine was broken and the dip machine was quite unstable. Please rethink this important part of a hotel of such category! It was also no fun to know that both pool and sauna were not available to the public until later in the month! Finally, we quickly realized the bathtub would not drain properly after taking a shower, a situation that was addressed on the third day of our stay in the hotel.

Lovely historic hotel, thoroughly updated. Comfortable, secure, spacious room, pleasant staff. Excellent buffet breakfast in a lovely rooftop space with two terraces. Very close to the main avenue, plaza, old city and the sea. There is also an indoor pool, sauna and small gym. I would stay there again.

Wifi was patchy. The area immediately around the hotel is not the best but I stayed here five nights and never had any problems.

Great location. Very nice old building. Room was facing the front but ni noise Large bedroom. Excellent reception staff. Breakfast was basic ( fresh fruit not ripe, juices very watery, hot food cold ). The shower did not drain properly and lot of water left on the basin making it very slippery and dangerous.

Great stay in Montevideo. About a 20 min walk to the port, 10 min walk to the main square and street and 10 min ubers to the main beaches Room is clean and spacious Breakfast is a smaller spread but it's on the roof terrace which is lovely

Bath/shower did not have a full door/curtain so water spilled onto the floor quite a lot

+ good location, close to old town + breakfast was decent + friendly staff with good suggestions

- hair dryer did not work - sometimes there was a smell of rotten eggs coming from the A/C - tiny elevator with doors closing super fast - indoor pool temperature was extremely hot, it was hot-tub temperature minus the jets
