Fabulous location

Facilities were poor- handle fell off the wardrobe, no fridge, phone was broken, in the bathroom we could hear Every word spoken, toilet function being performed in the bathroom above… most unpleasant and embarrassing. In the restaurant having asked for No garlic in my meal it arrived with extra garlic in it..!! Staff were cordial but not very friendly. Similar to all Araliya hotels, staff seem to be trained to do their job efficiently but generally there’s no warmth … only a few people make the extra effort to make one feel truly welcome.

We stayed at Sudu Araliya Hotel in Polonnaruwa on the 14th and 15th of this month, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The hotel has a beautiful view, and the overall stay was very pleasant. The food was delicious, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A special thank you to the receptionist, Hansika, who arranged a room with a lovely view for us — we really appreciated it! We would also like to thank Maneesha, Hasitha, and Danuka from the restaurant team. They were very helpful and did a great job assisting with the cake decoration, making our celebration even more special. Thank you all for your warm hospitality!

Nothing. But have to clean the balcony

The stay was wonderful, with a peaceful environment near the lake, a well-maintained pool, delicious dinner and breakfast, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. The location is ideal for a relaxing getaway

The room was comfortable but had some issues, including a small bathroom with water leakage, a poorly cleaned toilet, a broken balcony door, a faulty key, and only one chair on the balcony. The room also had some insects and the garden lighting was not working at night, making it uncomfortable. The room has great potential but needs improvements to enhance the outdoor experience.

The pool and the views were spectacular. Also it was lovely that the rooms were serviced each day. The restaurant staff were very attentive. The food was very tasty with a variety of Sri Lankan, Italian and Chinese.

A wedding that was extremely noisy the first night and it took ages to get drinks. Much better service the second night but a couple of musicians playing in the restaurant were very much in your face, as they stood playing in front of you while you ate. It was very intense. Also no internet in rooms.

Spectacular location especially because off the garden, the pool and the sunset over adjacent lake. The room was very big and comfortabel,

WiFi only in the lobby ( that could be easily resolved and way under standard in such a hotel-level). Dinner meant only one copious western-style menu: too much and therefore overprized. We were in the off-saison and there was no buffet: the were few guests.

Beautiful property, with gorgeous main areas and a pool and view to die for. Food was good. Staff were great.

The rooms themselves were basic and didn’t match the beauty of the rest of the resort.

Location and space. The grounds were gorgeous and well kept.

They had no coffee in the rooms. Also no filter coffee at breakfast. At breakfast instant coffee was served, making many guests irritated. Given the price you should have good coffee.

Fantastic location. Spacious and clean rooms. They offered us a very good grilled fish dinner and a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. Restaurant manager and staff were friendly and very professional. Highly worth for the price.

The view was breathtaking. Garden and the tree hut were so relaxing. Garden is well maintained. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Value for the money. Close to the ancient city & archaeological sites..
