From the moment we arrived at Baan Sawan Samui Resort, we were welcomed with such warmth and care that we immediately felt at home. The staff were absolutely excellent, and the owners couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly—nothing was too much trouble. Whether it was helping us arrange transport, offering great local recommendations, or simply checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly, their genuine hospitality really made our stay special. We stayed in one of the villas, and it was incredibly spacious, clean, and beautifully designed. There was plenty of room to relax, and the setting itself felt peaceful and authentic—just what we were looking for. It’s clear that a lot of thought and care has gone into creating a space that reflects the charm of Koh Samui while still offering modern comfort. Each morning we looked forward to the delicious breakfast, which had a great selection of fresh and tasty options. It was the perfect start to the day, and always served with a smile. The overall atmosphere at the resort felt genuine and relaxed, with a real attention to detail that set it apart from the more commercial hotels on the island. Although the resort isn’t directly on the beach, getting around by taxi was quick and easy, and we never felt too far from anything. The only thing to note is that crossing the road to get to the beach requires a bit of caution, especially during busier times. That said, we absolutely loved our stay here and would happily return—thank you to everyone at Baan Sawan for making our holiday so memorable.

A little remote, but taxis are cheap and plentiful.

Beautiful hidden haven, gorgeous boutique hotel which is family run, the family suite was very very spacious with 2 really good sized separate bedrooms which both had French doors on to the large terrace with a beautiful infinity pool on your doorstep! The restaurant which is open daily and evenings serves a wide varied menu, again we could not fault the food and service which was fantastic, we would highly recommend heading there for a spot of dining. Phillippe and all the staff made our stay such an enjoyable experience, if/when we go back to Koh Samui will definitely be heading back!!

Nothing it was perfect

Beautiful place! Clean, lovely staff - we enjoyed so much we booked an additional 3 nights but moved to different rooms each time, all pristine condition. Fabulous views enough deck chairs for guests. Transport to and fro the airport/ferry can be organised. Good location but can be out of the way if walking, also dogs at the bottom of the hill can be very intimidating late at night and when dark! We hired scooters around the corner to get around - it seems most people do. Very family friendly too. I accidentally dropped the room key in my bag and had the politest message from Philippe to post back at the airport - sorry about that! Also big thanks to Joe for sorting rooms and the lovely ladies each day xx

Nothing to do with you but those dogs down the road are awful!

The fastest WIFI I ever had in an Hotel. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, quiet location, friendly staff. You need a motorbike to move around as it's located a bit uphill, but you will have absolutely quiet nights and not so many mosquitos (none in the room). I would definitely stay again.

Please upgrade the toilet paper 😊

A beautiful little boutique resort up on the hill, outside of the busy area. The pools were clean, enough chairs for everyone. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony view, which was much nicer than the dark bungalows. It is not often that hotel rooms are nicer than bungalows, but here that is the case. The 3 dogs are sweet!

Breakfast was too greasy and repetitive for our liking, we ended up instead going to an amazing little brunch place about a 10 minute walk away. Difficult sometimes to get a taxi back in the evenings, though the red tuk tuk trucks do go up the dark road and take you home.

Really great staff. Good value for money. Excellent restaurant. The pool was appropriatly cool and not overcrowded. Cozy environment. Loved the dogs.

The location is a bit off, and the major road is not walkable, so you'll need transportation if you don't want to stay the entire day at the hotel or visit the one other rearuraunt nearby. Duvet and cushions had some stains on them,

My friend and I loved this unqiue boutique hotel on the hillside above popular beaches. Loved the pools, the comfy beds, big room, bathroom and huge porch, the chic open air bar and restaurant, the gardens, the ambiance, the breakfast and dinner, the delightful concierge welcome of Philippe, the owner and designer, and his staff. Outstanding service. This gem of a hotel is worth a visit to Koh Samui. Skip the beaches and just hang out at Baan Sawan!

A very peaceful and calm hotel with a fantastic restaurant attached - breakfast and all meals were tasty. The pools are very nice, the rooms are nice, and the staff make this place amazing - all employees we met were super friendly and ready to help with any request. I hope to stay here again 1 day.

Crossing the road to the beach isn't great, otherwise we were really happy.

The host and owner, Philippe, take the concept of the customer is always right to there next level. Great value for money and short walk to a great beach.

The hotel has a beautiful style incorporating European elegance in a rich green tropical Thai surrounds. The staff are amazing, so friendly, genuine and accommodating. The food from the restaurant is delicious and I have never experienced bread and pastry this good anywhere in SE Asia.

I cant fault it, will definitely return.
