I had the pleasure of staying at Karibu Beach Resort in Zanzibar for 15 days, and I can honestly say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality, setting the tone for a truly unforgettable stay. Small and Intimate, Yet Exquisite Karibu Beach Resort is a boutique hotel with only about 15 rooms, which creates an intimate, peaceful atmosphere. The resort has the feel of a private paradise, far from the typical overcrowded tourist spots. Despite its size, the service here is nothing short of 5-star quality. Every member of the staff goes above and beyond to ensure guests have everything they need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Impeccable Cleanliness and Service The cleanliness at Karibu Beach Resort is absolutely incredible. From the rooms to the pool area, and throughout the public spaces, everything is spotless. The attention to detail in cleaning is something I rarely see. Housekeeping is meticulous, and you can tell the hotel takes great pride in maintaining its pristine condition. As for the service, it’s outstanding. Every staff member is attentive, friendly, and truly cares about your comfort. From the reception to the restaurant staff, everyone is always there to help with a smile. They go the extra mile, whether it’s offering recommendations for local activities, setting up the perfect beach chair for you, or making sure you’re always comfortable. Delicious Fresh Food The food at the hotel is amazing. The restaurant offers a variety of fresh, flavorful dishes, and the menus are prepared to order. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, every meal was made with care, using fresh local ingredients. The breakfast spread is especially noteworthy, with a great selection of fruits, eggs, and traditional Zanzibari dishes. Each meal is tailored to your preferences, and you can tell the chefs take great pride in what they prepare.

This resort seems as if it’s brand new; every detail has been considered. The staff is stellar, going out of their way to make you feel welcome. The included breakfast is delicious and you are Literally steps from the beach. I had a partial ocean view room and was upgraded for my last two nights- both rooms were great but the ocean view, which was visible from the bed, was great. It’s a fantastic getaway location.

If you’re looking for a centrally located spot near tons of bars and restaurants, this is not it. But if you want a relaxing, true vacation from the crowds, Karibu Beach Resort is perfect.

I stayed only one night in Karibu Beach Resort, but the place is really amazing. I can recommend it for the best holiday in Zanzibar. The staff is super professional, they don’t disturb during my relaxing time there. The breakfast have many options, every day different kind of meal 🥘 The beach is quiet without beach boys with white sand and many coconut palms. I stayed also in Kiwengwa and there were a lot of Masai who disturbed me. Here in Karibu Beach Resort was really perfect for me. The place was new and they upgrade my room to Apartment 🙂 The room was clean and huge. I thank all staff the place for making my one day to be really perfect! I will come back!

This hotel is simply amazing! It’s incredibly clean, the staff is beyond friendly, and they make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The food is always fresh, healthy, and offers a great variety—there’s something delicious for everyone. The highlight? Coco, the playful little monkey who brings so much joy! Watching him all day adds a unique charm to this already perfect place. If you’re looking for the best stay in Zanzibar, this is it. I can’t wait to come back!

Awesome hotel, African 5 stars. :) Welcome drinks, decoratively folded linens - all those nice touches. :) Housekeeping twice a day. Fresh, clean & simple look, everything is in a great condition. Balcony, air conditioner, fan - you always have a way to regulate the temperature. Small but cozy territory with a cool pool & all needed amenities. Good variety for breakfast (cook-to-order, not buffet), tasty lunch / dinner options, decent selection of alcohol (except beer).

Only two towels (big & washcloth) per person, more would be better. Slow service at the restaurant, it could take 30 min for 2 cocktails & 45 min for breakfast. Plenty of locals at the beach who want to sell you stuff.

We choose the best resort for our honeymoon! The overall energy is calm and very friendly. The staff was very attentive and kind. English skills were very good and we liked to talk to all of the employees. Rooms were very clean and big, quiet and comfortable big bed. We liked the tiled bathroom a lot and there was no bad smell. In the room we had everything we wanted and also got a nice welcoming surprise and room upgrade! 😃 We mostly ate at the resort and enjoyed the food a lot. There was a big offer of dishes, from local cuisine with fresh fish to pizza, pasta and burger. Virgin Mojito was our favorite drink 🥰 Pool was perfect to cool down. There were not so many guests, due to low season and it felt very private by the pool. We had a lot of fun playing with Coco, their pet monkey. She is so cute! My favorite part was the stunning view! Very well maintained beach and comfortable sun lounger were perfect to relax and enjoy the view! ✨️😊

We stayed at the hotel for a week. Very beautiful little hotel. Newly renovated. Spotless clean. Nice and quiet. Staff very attentative and kind. Delicious breakfast. Great cocktails. We got free upgrade the two last days.

There is a big difference between low and High tide, but that only adds to the charm.

Property is small but beautiful and very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious.

The location is a bit out of the way to do some sightseeing. There are a few restaurants around but no shop. I did not enjoy the number of people trying to sell you thing when trying to enjoy the sea (through no fault of the resort).
